Seattle Mariners vs Toronto Blue Jays
The Toronto Blue Jays take on the Seattle Mariners in a four-game non-divisional series at Safeco Field starting on Tuesday night. The Mariners come to town on a one-game win streak and in second place in the AL West behind the Houston Astros. The Toronto Blue Jays, also on a one-game win streak, are looking to climb above .500 and remain competitive in the tough AL East. These two teams meet for the second and final time this season.
Seattle Mariners's Latest Performance :
The Seattle Mariners are for real and looking to make moves. They currently sit four games back behind a solid Houston Astros team who have slipped a bit this past week losing four in a row. Seattle has failed to capitalize though going 4-6 in their last ten.
It looks like James Paxton (8-4, 3.70 ERA) will finally come off the 10-day DL this week which will help the Mariners greatly in the pitching department.
Toronto Blue Jays's Latest Performance :
The Blue Jays have been chasing the Tampa Bay Rays most of the season for that third spot. Having gone 5-5 in their last hasn’t helped their record and their hopes of even a wildcard are quickly fading if not gone altogether. They are trading everyone with any trade value including Seung-Hwon Oh and J.A. Happ. Next up are Tyler Clippard and Curtis Granderson along with the suspended closer Roberto Osuna who is due back on August 5th following a 75-game domestic violence suspension.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Seattle Mariners are up there with some of the better teams in MLB. They play some tough teams in the AL West and are knocking on the door for first place. The Blue Jays are in a division with a couple of the best in baseball, but that doesn’t mean they have to be well below .500. Seattle should be able to bring some strong pitching to the table and let the bats fly on offense. The Blue Jays shouldn’t be able to keep up in this series.
