Boston Red Sox's Latest Performance :
The Red Sox are currently on an eight-game road trip as they get ready to take on the Orioles in a three-game set. The Red Sox are, riding a five-game win streak, the first team to reach 80 wins in the regular season this year. Playing against the Orioles on the road shouldn’t be a problem for the Red Sox because they have already beat the Orioles four times prior. Coming into this series the Red Sox are the best batting team in the Majors with 600 runs scored this season and second in pitching with a 3.43 ERA. The Red Sox are on-pace of having their best season yet.
Player to watch in this series: J.D. Martinez, he came up clutch for the Red Sox as he struck his league-leading 34th home run and drove in four runs Tuesday in Toronto. He has gone deep in two of his last three games and is now on pace for 48 home runs and 138 RBI this season. He’s having an MVP-caliber season in the middle of the Red Sox’ lineup, slashing a monstrous .328/.394/.650 with 34 homers, 81 runs scored, 97 RBI. He is arguably the hottest batter in the Majors right now.
- RBIs: J.D. Martinez (97)
- Homers: J.D. Martinez (34)
- Batting Average: Mookie Betts (.341)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Nathan Eovaldi, he went scoreless for the second time in 8th innings pitched. He’s now fired 15 scoreless innings, allowing seven hits and striking out nine. He has 3.38 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 62/9 K/BB ratio across 72 innings. He will be on the mound in the series opener against the Orioles.
Game 2: David Price, he allowed two runs on four hits in his six-plus innings of work in a no-decision against the Yankees. He will look to bounce back against the O’s on Saturday. He is 11-6 on the season with a 3.93 ERA and 1.22 WHIP.
Game 3: Chris Sale, he will be making his return to the mound for the Red Sox on Sunday in the rubber game. He has a 2.04 ERA, 0.87 WHIP, and 207/33 K/BB ratio in 141 innings (22 starts) this season.
Baltimore Orioles's Latest Performance :
The Orioles will be back at Orioles Park for a six-game homestand beginning on Friday. The homestand opens with a three-game series against the Red Sox. The Orioles are tied with the Royals for the worst record in the Majors they are 34-79 on the season. The Orioles haven’t figured out a way to beat the Red Sox in any of their meetings this season. The Orioles were projected to win 54 games at the start of the year they sit 34 wins with 112 games played already this season. The O’s trading away their two best batters (Machado to the Dodgers, Schoop to Brewers) to a contender is a clear sign that they are building their team for the future. Coming into this series the O’s are 25th in batting with 438 runs scored this season and 28th in pitching with a 4.97 ERA.
Player to watch in this series: Trey Mancini, he now leads the team in homers with 16 long balls on the year. He is the only option for the Orioles offensively after they have traded all their best offensive options to contending teams. The Orioles will have to rely on him playing well against the Red Sox at home. He is batting .286 with four homers in 16 games. The Orioles will surely stick with him the rest of the way.
- RBIs: Adam Jones (44)
- Homers: Trey Mancini (16)
- Batting Average: Adam Jones (.282)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Yefry Ramirez, he allowed five runs on five hits in his last start for the Orioles He has a 5.66 ERA over eight appearances (seven starts) this season. He will be on the mound in the series opener against the Red Sox.

Against The Spread Selection: Boston Red Sox
My reason for the pick :
The Red Sox should through another convincing victory over the Orioles as the Red Sox are going to sweep the Orioles on the road 3-0. The Red Sox are firing on all cylinders and have shown no signs of slowing down after sweeping both the Yankees and the White Sox in their previous series. The Red Sox have the best batting line up in the Major with Martinez and Betts leading the charge. The Orioles at this point of the season have nothing to play for. The Orioles could use this opportunity to learn from the Red Sox as the Orioles continue to develop their younger players for the future.
The Red Sox to sweep the Orioles 3-0 on the road.
