Game 3: 1:35 PM ET

Milwaukee Brewers 's Latest Performance :

The Brewers will begin their eight-game road trip against the Braves. They will look to bounce back on the road after losing four of their last six games. The Brewers are 2 1/2 games behind the Cubs for the top spot in the division. The Brewers are 30-28 when playing on the road this season. New acquisition Schoop and Moustakas haven’t lived up to the hype. Coming into this series the Brewers are 9th in pitching with a 3.82 ERA and 16th in batting with 509 runs scored this season. Getting into the playoffs is the number one priority of the Brewer this season.

Player to watch in this series: Jesus Aguilar, he hit a two-run homer and walked against the Padres on Tuesday. He has gone ice cold after the All-Star break so it is great to see him putting runs although the Brewers didn’t come out with the win it is great to see Aguilar looking like his old self again. He leads the team in RBI and homers his slash line this year is .273/.358/577. I expect him to start this road trip on the right foot and put up an MVP type performance against the Braves.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Jesus Aguliar (79)
  • Homers: Jesus Aguliar (27)
  • Batting Average: Christain Yelich (.323)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: Freddy Peralta, he had eight strikeouts while allowing two runs in six innings to record a win over the Rockies on Saturday. He is  5-2 on the year with a 3.54 ERA through 10 starts. He will return to the mound on Friday going up against the Braves on the road.

Game 2: Wade Miley, he allowed three runs on five hits over five innings in a no-decision against the Rockies on Sunday. He is 2-1 with a 2.10 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 22/18 K/BB ratio over 34 1/3 innings. He’ll face the Braves on Saturday.

Game 3: Chase Anderson, he allowed four runs in 4 2/3 innings Tuesday against the Padres. He is 7-7 on the season with a 3.81 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. He will close things out for the Brewers in the rubber game.

Atlanta Braves's Latest Performance :

The Braves will be back at SunTrust Park for an 11 game homestand beginning on Friday. The homestand opens with a three-game series against the Brewers. The Braves are second in the NL East division they trail the Phillies for the top spot by 1 1/2 games. The Braves are 28-23 when playing at home this season. The Brewers are on top of the Wild Card standings while the Braves have 1/2 lead over the D-Backs for the last spot in the postseason. Coming into this series the Braves are 12th in batting with 522 runs scored this season and 12th in pitching with a 3.86 ERA.

Player to watch in this series: Ender Inciarte, he struck a decisive two-run triple in the ninth inning of Tuesday’s win over the Nationals. Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis opened up the top of the ninth with back-to-back singles. He has a couple multi-hit games over his last three contests. He is slashing .253/.315/.357 with 42 RBIs on the season. He came through for the team and produced the winning play.  I expect him to play well against the Brewers at home.

Team leaders:

  • RBIs: Freddy Freeman (69)
  • Homers: Ozzie Albies (20)
  • Batting Average: Nick Markakis (.323)

Probable Pitchers for this series:

Game 1: Kevin Gausman, he gave up three runs in five-plus innings and took a loss as the Braves got shut out by the Mets on Saturday. He will look to redeem himself against the Brewers in the series opener. He is 5-9 with a 4.47 ERA on the season.

Game 2: Julio Teheran, he was charged with three runs over 5 2/3 innings Sunday, getting charged with a no-decision in the Braves’ 5-4 extra-innings win over the Mets. He will try to redeem himself on the mound Saturday.

Game 3: Sean Newcomb, he struck out six while tossing six innings of one-run ball Tuesday, taking a no-decision in the Braves’ 3-1 win over the Nationals. He will close things out for the Braves in the rubber game against the Brewers.

How Milwaukee Brewers & Atlanta Braves Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Braves are 6-1 in their last 7 overall.

Brewers are 37-15 in their last 52 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Against The Spread Selection: Milwaukee Brewers

My reason for the pick :

The Brewers will beat out the Braves 2-1 on the road the Braves pitchers won’t be able to contain the batting of the Brewers team. The Brewers will bring their A-game because they know how important it is to have a comfortable lead in the Wild Card standings so the team can focus on the division title. As the season progresses we are starting to see the Braves younger players aren’t as impactful as they were to start the season, this is where the experience of Freeman will be very useful as he will have to do all he can to lead the Braves into the postseason. The Braves this season are playing with intensity because they wouldn’t want to give away an opportunity to make the postseason.

The Brewers to steal this series on the road 2-1 against the Braves.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Brewers :

  • Brewers are 24-8 in their last 32 games vs. a starter with a WHIP less than 1.15.

Betting trends for Atlanta Braves:

  • Braves are 3-10 in their last 13 vs. a team with a winning record.
