Miami Marlins's Latest Performance :

The Braves come into this game winners of 3 of their last 5 games to where the O/U is 3-1-1.   Recently, the Braves would win a 4-game road set versus the Mets on 8-5-2018, yet, would tie a 4-game road set versus the Washington Nationals on 8-9-2018.  They would come out on a winning not against the Brewers as they would pick up the 10-1 home win on 8-10-2018.

For the season, the Braves are averaging 4.81 runs per game (7th) with a team batting average of .260 (3rd), 125 homers (18th) along with 63 stolen bases (9th).  Their pitching staff has an ERA of 3.83 (11th) with 1000 strikeouts (13th) along with 47 quality starts on the season (18th).

Atlanta Braves 's Latest Performance :

The Marlins come into this matchup losers of 4 of their last 5 games to there the O/U was 1-2-2.  After being swept on the road versus the Philadelphia Phillies on 8-5-2018, the Marlins would go on to lose game 1 of a 3-game set versus the lowly Mets on 8-10-2018 by a 6-2 score.

For the season, the Marlins average 3.72 runs per game (29th) with a team batting average of .241 (23rd), 95 homers (29th) along with 30 stolen bases (29th).  Their pitching staff has an ERA of 4.81 (26th) with 931 strikeouts (22nd) along with 41 quality starts (26th).

How Miami Marlins & Atlanta Braves Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

For the season, the Braves are 59-54 ATS while the O/U is 56-52-5.  On the other hand, the Marlins are 59-58 ATS while the O/U is 59-54-4.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

Both these teams find themselves trending in different directions as one has recently reclaimed the top spot in the division while the other continues to occupy the rear of the division, overall.  The Braves have had their way against the Marlins and while the pitchers for this matchup have not been assigned yet, I will certainly say that it would certainly seem that the Braves certainly have the inside track on getting the win in this series.  In all, it will be interesting to see exactly not how the Braves return from their long road trip in which to gear up for their 11-game home stand while it will also be intriguing to see where the focus will be for the Marlins after going through a tough skid.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Atlanta Braves

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Braves in this matchup not only because they have played more consistently of the two squads, but, that they also have a successful record against their division foe in recent matchups.  Atlanta, again, has regained the top spot in the division from the slumping Phillies and I am sure will use this opportunity in which to play with more focus and confidence now that they have fought themselves back into the playoff hunt.  In all, I expect the Braves to come out motivated in this series to separate themselves from the other teams within the division.

Totals Selection: Pick: Over

My reason for the prediction :

While the Braves have been able to pick up some wins recently, their pitching has not been as effective lately.  This could very well be due to the offense for Atlanta finally being able to consistently put runs on the board, however, for the Braves to continue their recent winning streak, their pitching staff must be more dependable moving forward.  Nonetheless, the Marlins staff has not been much better in recent outings, so, when combining both these facts, I expect the over as being the play in this matchup.
