Toronto Blue Jays vs Kansas City Royals
The AL East fourth-place Toronto Blue Jays visit the AL Central last-place Kansas City Royals on Monday night to kick off a four-game series at Kaufman Stadium. After game one of their initial meeting this season was postponed, the Blue Jays went on to sweep the Royals 3-0 in Toronto back in April hence pushing this series to four games.
On the mound for the Royals to start the series will be right-hander Brad Keller (4-5, 3.57 ERA) against fellow right-handed rookie Mike Hauschild (1-1, 4.32 ERA).
Toronto Blue Jays's Latest Performance :
The Toronto Blue Jays have gone 4-6 in their last ten and continue to face those dreadful pitching woes. They’ve seen it before as recently as last year’s losing record reflected. They used 33 pitchers last year and are already up to 28 this season. They have a stable of Triple-A prospects that should expect a call this season like the one placed on Thursday to LHP Thomas Pannone from the Buffalo Bisons. He was a 9th round pick by Cleveland in 2013 and is currently ranked 28th on the top prospect depth chart. Toronto’s lack of young talent on their roster is looking to change quickly especially if guys like Pannone make an impact.
Kansas City Royals's Latest Performance :
The Kansas City Royals are the worst team in baseball. That’s a fact. So how does the worst team in baseball not only pummel one of MLB’s better teams but shut them out 9-0? Heath Fillmyer. He recorded his first major league win on Thursday night pitching seven almost flawless innings. Not to take away from the offense who managed nine runs but the night clearly belonged to Fillmyer. Unfortunately, the Royals may not have enough talent to sustain and continue winning but they do have the ability to beat anyone in the league on any given night.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Even though the Blue Jays dominated their first meeting, the Royals are tenacious. They haven’t laid down and played dead in hopes of securing a high draft pick. They want to remain competitive and not allow losing to be contagious in the dugout. Let’s face it, the Blue Jays are mediocre. Sure they’re in a tough division but that doesn’t mean they can’t at least have a winning record. They are on pace to match last years finish and will certainly not let that curtail their drive to win games and improve. This should be a competitive match-up all the way around.
