Los Angeles Angels's Latest Performance :
The Angels come into this game winners of 3 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 3-2. After dropping a 3-game home set versus the Oakland A’s on 8-12-2018, the Angels would sweep a 3-game road set against the San Diego Padres on 8-15-2018. After losing games 1 and 2 of a 4-game road set versus the Texas Rangers in their following series, the Angels would finally pick up a win in the set as they would hang 11 runs on the Rangers pitching to pick up the 11-7 road win on 8-18-2018.
Andrelton Simmons (.297 BA on 424 AB), Mike Trout (.309 BA on 372 AB), and Albert Pujols (.256 BA on 441) have been the offensive leaders for the Angels offense this season. Justin Upton (.267 BA on 454 AB) has also been very consistent contributor to the offense as el this season.
Tyler Skaggs (8-8) has pitched 116.2 innings while allowing 53 runs on 118 hits 12 homers, 35 walks, and 123 strikeouts with an ERA of 3.78.
Arizona Diamondbacks 's Latest Performance :
The Arizona Diamondbacks have won 3 of their last 5 game to where the O/U was 3-2. After losing a 3-game road set versus the Cincinnati Reds on 8-12-2018, the D’backs would go on to tie a 2-game interleague set versus the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park on 8-14-2018. They would go on the outscore the Padres in games 1 and 2 of a 4-gaem road set by a combined score of 14-5 as they would go up 2-0 early in the series, however, they would drop game 3 due to a slim, 7-6 outcome.
David Peralta (.299 BA on 435 AB) and Paul Goldschmidt (.293 BA on 464 AB) have been the offensive stars for the Diamondbacks thus far. Nick Ahmed (.242 BA on 397 AB) has also been solid offensively for Arizona this season.

How Los Angeles Angels & Arizona Diamondbacks Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Only the pitchers for Arizona have been assigned for this 2-game set as Patrick Corbin (10-4) will come to the mound looking for his 4th straight win and 5th in 6 outings. The team is 5-0 in Corbin’s last 5 starts while the under has been the play in 3 of his last 5 appearances on the mound. In all, Corbin is charged with 11 earned on 29 hits over his last 33.1 innings while giving up no homers along with 41 strikeouts. In his last outing, Corbin would pitch 7 innings while allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and 7 k’s in a 6-4 road victory over the Texas Rangers on 8-14-2018. This will be Corbin’s first matchup versus the Angels, however, he has had success facing Rene Rivera and Andrelton Simmons as they are a combined 0-2 against the lefty. His ERA is 2.66 with 24 strikeouts in his last 3 games.
Clay Buckholtz (6-2) has also been on a tear at the mound for the D’backs as he will take the mound in the finale of this set looking for his 2nd straight win and 6th in 7 outings. His last loss came at the hands of the Reds as they would chase him for 3 runs on 8 hits in a 3-0 road loss on 8-10-2018; Nonetheless, he would atone for this outing in his last time out by going 9 innings while allowing 1 run on 5 hits, a homer, along with 6 k’s in a 5-1 road win versus the Padres on 8-16-2018. This will be Buckholtz’s first matchup versus the Angels, however, he has had experience facing Kole Calhoun (.111 BA on 9 AB), Albert Pujols (3-10), Rene Rivera (0-5), Andrelton Simmons (0-6), and Justin Upton (.1-3).
Against The Spread Selection: Games 1 & 2: Arizona Diamondbacks
My reason for the pick :
The Angels would finally break out of a funk in beating the Padres in game 3 of their current set, however, more headaches will await them in this interleague matchup against the D’backs. First off, the Angels have had problems at the mound in recent outing as the staff and bullpen is allowing 7 runs per in their last 3 games and while the offense has plated close to 7 runs during this time, with the way in which Corbin and Buckholtz has pitched lately, it would be unrealistic to think that they would maintain such numbers at the plate in games 1 and 2 of this set. With that being said, I will back Arizona in both matchups without knowing the starter for the opposing team. This is simply a testament as to how effective these players have been on the mound for their squads recently. The Arizona offense is averaging close to 7 runs per in their last 3 outings while the pitching is allowing 4 runs per game during this time, thanks in large part to the Rangers scoring 7 in their last outing. In the 5 games prior to this game, the pitching staff allowed an average of a tad under 3 runs per game. In all, take the D’backs to create some cushion between themselves and the Colorado Rockies in the NL West.
Totals Selection: Pick: Under
My reason for the prediction :
I will choose the under throughout this contest on the strength of the Arizona pitching along with the up and down, inconsistent offense for the Angels. Arizona is not known for being a ‘lights-out’ offense juggernaut, however, they have experience batters that are known to work the pitch count in which to obtain the necessary hits that lead to successful scoring opportunities for their squad. With that being said, Corbin and Buckholtz have indeed been ‘lights-out’ in recent outings and I would expect this trend to continue on Tuesday and Wednesday as the game will certainly be won at the mound, with the D’backs having a huge edge.
