Oakland Athletics's Latest Performance :
The A’s will begin their seven-game road trip against the Twins. The A’s are arguably the hottest team in the Major right now winning 41 of their last 55 games. They are on the top spot of the AL West division with a record of 75-50. The A’s are 37-25 when playing on the road this season. The A’s are coming off a dominant series win against the Rangers which includes a shutout game where the A’s put up nine runs. Coming into this series the A’s are 10th in pitching with a 3.78 ERA and 8th in batting with 595 runs scored this season.
Player to watch in this series: Ramon Laureano, he went 2-for-5 with two homers and five RBI in a blowout win over the Rangers on Monday. It was his first two career homer in the Majors, he has had an immediate impact with Oakland since his being called up on August 3. He is hitting .281/.281/.469, and he’s driven in eight runs in his 12 games. I expect him to carry over the momentum on the plate against the Twins on the road.

Minnesota Twins's Latest Performance :
The Twins will return home for a brief four-game homestand going up against the red-hot Athletics. The Twins are a decent team when playing at home this season they are 38-26 when playing in Target Field. Coming into this series the Twins are 16th in batting with 569 runs scored this season and 22nd in pitching with a 4.48 ERA. The Twins are out of any playoff contention because they are 15 1/2 back of the Wild Card spot. The Twins will use the remainder of the season to develop their young talents.

My reason for the pick :
The A’s are firing on all cylinders at the moment and I don’t see the A’s slowing down any time soon as they will beat out the Twins on the road 3-1. The A’s are looking like a postseason team as the season progresses. The addition of Fiers will help the A’s down the line, the players on the A’s team are playing with full confidence both in batting and pitching. The A’s are on a mission to win the West and Billy Beane is making a serious case for GM of the year while Khris Davis is now the front-runner for MVP this season.
