San Diego Padres 's Latest Performance :
The Padres will cap off their six-game road trip against the Dodgers. The Padres are in the last place of the NL West division. They are not a really good home team this season they are 23-43 when playing at home. The Padres will be focusing on developing youth for the future. The Padres will also hope for a better future with Eric Hosmer since they have him under contract after signing a $144 million deal. If Hosmer goes back to being his old self the Padres have a bright future ahead of them. Coming into this series the Padres are 20th in pitching with a 4.43 ERA and 26th in batting with 491 runs scored this season. The Padres have the best bullpen in the second half of the season.
Player to watch in this series: Eric Hosmer, he went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in the Padres’ 4-3 win over the Rockies on Tuesday. He’s now hit a home run three times in his last eight games. He is hitting .311/.359/.500 in August and he’s currently on a nine-game hitting streak. On the season he is slashing .261/.325/.405 with 58 runs scored, 13 home runs, 54 RBI and six steals in 535 plate appearances. I expect him to have a good series and continue his hitting streak against the Dodgers.
- RBIs: Eric Hosmer (54)
- Homers: Christain Villanueva (20)
- Batting Average: Eric Hosmer (.261)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Clayton Richard, he allowed five runs in five innings of work Saturday in a no-decision against the Diamondbacks. He is winless in his last 10 games, he gets the start in the series opener against the Dodgers on Friday. He is 7-10 on the season with a 5.11 ERA and 1.34 WHIP.
Game 2: Brett Kennedy, he allowed just two runs on six hits over five innings in a no-decision against the D-Backs. He has an 8.36 ERA, 2.14 WHIP and 9/4 K/BB ratio across his first 14 innings in the Majors. He gets the start on Saturday.
Game 3: Robbie Erlin, he allowed three runs over five innings and picked up his third win of the year against the Rockies on Tuesday. He has a 3-3 record with a 3.46 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 65/8 K/BB ratio in six starts this year. He will face the Dodgers on Sunday.
Los Angeles Dodgers's Latest Performance :
The Dodgers will cap off their six-game homestand against the Padres in a three-game set. The Dodgers will look to bounce back in a massive way after losing the series to the Cardinals. Due to the recent struggles losing 9 of their last 13 games, the Dodgers are now in third place of the NL West division and trail the Brewers by two game for the Wild Card spot. The Dodgers have never lost a series against the Padres this season. Coming into this series the Dodgers are 8th in batting with 599 runs scored this season and 3rd in pitching with a 3.50 ERA.
Player to watch in this series: Manny Machado, he is starting to look more confident on the plate in a Dodgers uniform as he went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in the Dodgers’ 5-2 loss to the Cardinals on Tuesday. It was his ninth multi-hit effort in a Dodger uniform. He is hitting .280 (35-for-125) with five homers, 12 RBI and four steals since being traded to Los Angeles. I expect him to have a great series against the Padres.
- RBIs: Manny Machado (77)
- Homers: Manny Machado (29)
- Batting Average: Matt Kemp (.284)
Probable Pitchers for this series:
Game 1: Rich Hill, he allowed four runs over six innings in a no-decision against the Mariners on Saturday. He is 5-4 on the season with a 3.73 ERA and 1.27 WHIP. He will get the start in the series opener against the Padres on Friday.
Game 2: Clayton Kershaw, he allowed just one run on four hits over seven innings with seven strikeouts in a victory over the Mariners on Sunday. He has a 115/20K/BB ratio, 2.40 ERA and 1.01 WHIP. He starts on Saturday against the Padres.
Game 3: Alex Wood, he allowed three runs over four innings in a no-decision against the Cardinals on Monday. He has a 3.60 ERA with a 117/33 K/BB ratio over 132 1/3 innings. He will close things out for the Dodgers in the rubber game against the Padres on Sunday.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Dodgers are 3-7 in their last 10 overall.
Padres are 4-1 in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning record.
Against The Spread Selection: Los Angeles Dodgers
My reason for the pick :
The Dodgers will bounce back in a huge way sweeping the Padres on the road 3-0. The Dodgers can’t afford to slide down the standings anymore. Manny Machado will have a breakout performance in this series. The Dodgers will take advantage on the road. The Dodgers have three elite pitchers lined up against the Padres because they know the importance of this series and what can it do to their season. After not playing well against the Cards expect the Dodgers to come out firing on all cylinders and take this series with ease. The Dodgers will do all they can to win back to back NL West division titles.
The Dodgers to sweep the Padres on the road 3-0.
