Seattle Mariners's Latest Performance :
The Mariners have won 3 of their last 5 games to where the O/U was 3-2. Recently, after winning a 3-game home set over the Dodgers on 8-19-2018, the Mariners would go on to drop a 3-game home set to the Houston Astros on 8-22-2018.
Dee Gordon (.272 BA on 463 AB), Jean Segura (.316 BA on 481 AB), and Mitch Haniger (.277 BA on 459 AB) have been solid at the plate for the Mariners thus far. Kyle Seager (.223 BA on 465 AB) has also been pivotal to Seattle’s success this season.

San Diego Padres's Latest Performance :
The Padres come into this matchup losers of 4 of their last 5 games to where the O/U has been 2-3. The Padres would recently drop a 4-game home set versus the D’backs on 8-19-2018 while also losing a 3-game road set to the Colorado Rockies on 8-23-2018. They would be outscored in the first 2 games of a 3-game road set to the Dodgers by a total score of 16-5.
Jose Pirela (.254 BA on 374 AB), Eric Hosmer (.255 BA on 438 AB), and Freddy Galvis (.240 BA on 438 AB) have been the few bright spots for this San Diego squad.
Clayton Richard (7-11) has been improving for the Padres this season and has pitched 150 innings while allowing 86 runs on 141 hits, 17 homers, 56 walks, and 102 strikeouts with an ERA of 4.98.
How Seattle Mariners & San Diego Padres Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
For the season, the Padres are 63-69 ATS while the O/U is 64-64-4. On the other hand, the Mariners are 66-64 ATS while the O/U is 64-64-2.
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Mariners have gone in and out of consciousness the past few weeks as they rebounded from a stretch to where they would drop 7 of 9 by winning 5 of 7 games. The trouble is that they have since lost 4 of their last 6 games heading into this series to where their offense has put up a total of 27 runs in 8 outings. Their pitching staff has also been atrocious during this time as they have surrendered 47 runs total. The Padres find themselves in much the same spot in dropping 6 of their last 8 games while their offense has been dismal in averaging a tad over 3 runs per game in their last 6 outings while the pitching has allowed 27 runs during this time. In all, this series will entail two struggling teams each looking to obtain a win in which to somehow stop the bleeding.
Totals Selection: Pick: Games 1 & 2: Under
My reason for the prediction :
The under has been the play in 5 of the last 6 games for the Mariners while being the result in 3 of the last 5 home games for the Padres. Considering how these two teams have struggled from the plate lately, I will back the under throughout this series. While both teams will enter this series focused on getting a couple wins, I happen to feel that with the way in which both have performed at the plate, the pitching staffs will certainly have a productive day on the mound. In all, there will not be many runs scored in this series, as I will certainly take the under to be the play in the end.
