Tampa Bay Rays's Latest Performance :

The Tampa Bay Rays have won their last 5 games to where the O/U was 2-2-1.  Recently, after losing a 3-game road set versus the Boston Red Sox on 8-19-2018, the Rays would sweep a 4-game set versus the lowly Royals on 8-23-2018 while also winning the first 2 games of a 3-game home set versus the Red sox to where they would outscore them by a 15 to 4 score.

Mallex Smith (.307 BA on 374 AB), Joey Wendle (.291 BA on 375 AB) spearhead the offensive attack from the plate for the O’s while C.J. Cron (.251 BA on 423 AB) and Matt Duffy (.296 BA on 423 AB) are also critical to the Baltimore offense.

Blake Snell (15-5) has pitched 139 innings this season and allowed 34 runs on 83 hits, 13 homers, 49 walks, and 137 strikeouts with an ERA of 2.07.

Atlanta Braves's Latest Performance :

The Braves come into this game winners of 3 of their last 5 games to where the O/U is 0-5.   Recently, after being swept by the Rockies in a 4-game home set on 8-19-2018, the Braves would go on to sweep a 3-gmar road set versus the Pittsburgh Prates on 8-22-2018.  After winning game 1 of a 4-game road set versus the Marlins by a 5-0 score, the braves would drop their next to games of the set to go down 2 games to 1 with the finale on 8-26-2018.

Freddie Freeman (.317 BA on 496 AB), Nick Markakis (.312 BA on 504 AB), and Ozzie Albies (.272 BA on 523 AB) have been the offensive stars for the Braves all season.  Dansby Swanson (.246 BA on 399 AB) and Ender Inciarte (.249 BA on 485 AB) have also been consistent at the plate for the Braves.

How Tampa Bay Rays & Atlanta Braves Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

For the season, the Braves are 66-63 ATS while the O/U is 60-64-5.  On the other hand, the Rays are 73-57 ATS while the O/U is 54-71-5.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

No pitchers have been named for this set, however, the Rays have certainly picked things up lately in winning 10 of their last 15 games while their offense has pumped in 52 runs during this time.  The pitching has been the catalyst for their recent turnaround as they surrendered 37 runs during this time.  The Braves, on the other hand, went through a rough patch recently in dropping 4 straight, nonetheless, they have won their last 3 outings since.  Their pitching has been stellar in their last few outings in surrendering only 2 runs during their 3-game winning streak while the offense continues to struggle a bit in plating only 9 runs during this time for a 3 run/game average, overall.  This game will be interesting in that both teams will be looking to extend their winning play from recent outings (Braves and Mets) while also maintaining their position in the division (Braves).

Totals Selection: Pick: Games 1 & 2: Under

My reason for the prediction :

The under has been the play in 7 of the last 8 games for the Braves while being the result in 10 of the last 12 outings for the Rays.  Combine that with the fact that the under has been the play in 10 of the Braves last 17 games on the road while being the play in 8 of the last 9 for the Rays, I would have to back the trends in this instance in backing the under.  Also, when one considers that it may take some time for these squads to warm up against each other, I would say that the under will certainly be a strong play in this outing.

Betting trends for Tampa Bay Rays:

    • The Rays are 9-4 in last 13 games
    • The Rays are 5-7 in last 12 road games
    • The Under is 8-1 in Rays last 9 road games

Betting trends for Atlanta Braves:

    • The Braves are 8-4 in last 12 games
    • The Braves are 9-5 in last 14 home games
    • The Under is 10-7 in Braves last 17 home games
