Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Los Angeles Dodgers vs St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals will welcome back the Dodgers to Busch Stadium as the two teams will compete for the very last time before the postseason in game 4.
Game 4 starts at 8:08 PM ET.
Los Angeles Dodgers's Latest Performance :
The Dodgers are still looking to become back to back NL West division champions. They only trail the Rockies by 1 1/2 game. The Dodgers are looking to close out the Cardinals in the four-game set. The Dodgers offense continue to come alive scoring 17 runs in their last two games. The Dodgers will look to use Freese the former Cardinals to jumpstart the Dodgers offense. The Dodgers are the second best team in pitching with a 3.45 ERA and 6th in batting with 699 runs scored this season. It was just a matter of time when the Dodgers batting lineup start to put up runs on the board and to see them put up runs against a good team like the Cardinals make it even more impressive.
Manny Machado caught fire on the plate as he went 3-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored, and the Dodgers outlasted the Cardinals 9-7 on Thursday. He was one of the five Dodgers who recorded multiple hits. He had an RBI double in the third, driving in a run with a sac fly in the fourth and bopping a solo homer in the seventh. It was his 34th homer of the season to go along with 93 RBI and 76 runs scored. He will play a major role as the Dodgers try to close down the gap for the division title.
Probable Pitcher: Hyun-Jin Ryu, he allowed three runs over five innings Tuesday in a loss to the Reds. He was able to strike out six batters but gave up eight hits. He has a 27/2 K/BB ratio over his last 23 2/3 innings. He will start on Sunday for the Dodgers against the Cardinals.
St. Louis Cardinals's Latest Performance :
The Cardinals are leading the Dodgers by a game in the Wild Card standings, the Cards will have to find a way to stop the Dodgers offense after giving up nine runs and 16 hits in the series opener. The Cards were feeling confident coming into this series after sweeping them earlier in the year but now they find themselves holding on to the last spot in the Wild Card standings. The Cards are 11th in batting with 689 runs scored this season and 10th in pitching with a 3.76 ERA. The Cardinals must quickly find their old form when they took the league by storm after the impressive second-half start
The rookie Yairo Munoz went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored against an elite pitcher like Clayton Kershaw. He has been striving under pressure, batting .333 with two homers and nine runs scored so far this month. He’s hitting .285/.352/.438 in 96 games overall. He will have to play well if the Cardinals want to hold on to the Wild Card spot.
Probable Pitcher: Adam Wainwright, he will look to bounce back on Sunday against the Dodgers after allowing four earned runs on seven hits over five innings in his return from the DL. He is 1-3 on the season with a 4.70 ERA and 1.74 WHIP.

Against The Spread Selection: Los Angeles Dodgers
My reason for the pick :
I am going with the Dodgers in this one. Once the Dodgers get it going offensively the Dodgers are a very hard team to beat. Machado will continue to play well against the Cardinals as he will look to close the four-game series with a victory on the road. Next, up for the Dodgers, they will face off against the Rockies yet again for the NL West division. Despite the loss, the Cardinals will have to play their best against a very tough Braves team on the road. If the Cardinals don’t want to see this season go to waste they will have to tighten up the screws and win every series going forward.
The Dodgers to beat the Cardinals on the road in game 4.
