Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Los Angeles Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers will welcome the Dodgers to Miller Park as the two teams will compete for a place in the World Series. The Brewers are coming off a series sweep against the Rockies while the Dodgers were able to beat out the Braves 3-1. The Dodgers won four of their seven regular-season meetings with the Brewers, including taking two of three in Milwaukee. This will be the first time that these two teams will be meeting in the postseason.

Los Angeles Dodgers's Latest Performance :

The Dodgers continue to hit homers as they have reached the NLCS in four of their last six years. They still got a chip on their shoulder after the game seven lost against the Astros last season. In the Braves series, the Dodgers hit eight homers accounting for 14 of their 20 runs so expect a similar game plan against the Brewers. The Dodgers bullpen will play a huge role in this series as they only allowed one run in 10 2/3 innings against the Braves. The Dodgers won the season series 4-3 over the Brewers including the 23 run game on August 2nd. The Dodgers offense have players (Muncy, Grandal, Kemp) who can take over a game singlehandedly that what makes their batting depth so great this season.

Batter to watch in this series: Manny Machado, he came up clutch for his ball club leading the Dodgers offense with a three-run home run and added an RBI double in a game four victory over the Braves. It was his biggest performance since moving to the Dodgers. He will play a huge part against the Brewers in the NLCS. He will be looking to capitalize the Brewers pitchers mistakes once he spots an opportunity to make a play he rarely misses.

Pitcher to watch in this series: Clayton Kershaw, he is set to start in game one against the Brewers after his Dodgers were able to close out the Braves in four. He ended the season with a 2.73 ERA and 155 strikeouts in 161 innings. The last time he was on the mound in game 2 he allowed just two hits over eight scoreless innings. I expect him to set the tone for the Dodgers from the very beginning.

Milwaukee Brewers's Latest Performance :

The Brewers have now won eleven straight and has not lost a game in three weeks they are the hottest team in the Major. They will have home field advantage over the Dodgers after finishing with the best record in the National Leauge. In the postseason the Brewers are 5th in batting with 13 runs scored and the best pitching team in with a 0.64 ERA with three games played. The Brewers pitchers allowed only two runs while holding the Rockies scoreless in 27 of the 28 innings. The Brewers bullpen will be well rested for this seven-game series against the Dodgers. The Brewers are playing like a postseason team and the Dodgers are their biggest test yet.

Batter to watch in this series: Christian Yelich, he is arguably the hottest batter in the league right now. He has a .770 slugging percentage after the All-Star break and a pair of cycles in September. He is one of the reasons why the Brewers offense has been so lethal in this postseason. He is likely to end up with the NL MVP honors. In game one against the Rockies, he hit a 2 run homer sealing the game for the Brewers. The Dodgers pitchers are well aware of his hitting abilities so don’t be surprised if the Dodgers let him walk as a part of their game plan. On the season he is slashing .326/.402/.598 with 36 homers and 110 RBIs.

Pitcher to watch in this series: Josh Hader, he is one of the Brewers postseason weapon. He has 2.43 ERA and a ridiculous 143/30 K/BB ratio over 81 1/3 innings. He also notched 12 saves. The Brewers will definitely be in great hands if the game remains close after the 9th inning.

How Los Angeles Dodgers & Milwaukee Brewers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Brewers are 5-2 in their last 7 Divisional Playoff games.

Dodgers are 8-1 in their last 9 Divisional Playoff games.

Against The Spread Selection: Los Angeles Dodgers

My reason for the pick :

The Dodgers are making their return to the World Series as they will take down the Brewers in six games. The Dodgers offense will prove to be too much for the Brewers bullpen as the Dodgers will hit homers left and right. Despite the Brewers winning 11 straight the experienced Dodgers will get the better of them in the postseason. Yelich will have a great series but he won’t be able to carry his Brewers past the Dodgers pitching staff. The Dodgers has won seven of eight and outscored opponents 47-15 during its run and seven different guys cleared 20 home runs. Manny will continue to produce clutch moments for the Dodgers in this series. The Dodgers will be hungrier than ever to beat the Brewers in the NCLS to represent the National Leauge in the World Series for the second straight year.

Dodgers to beat the Brewers 4-2 in the best of seven series.

Betting trends for Los Angeles Dodgers:

  • Dodgers are 6-1 in their last 7 after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game.

  • Dodgers are 28-11 in their last 39 overall.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Brewers:

  • Brewers are 13-3 in their last 16 vs. a team with a winning record.

  • Brewers are 4-0 in their last 4 games vs. a left-handed starter.
