Cleveland Cavaliers vs Indiana Pacers
The 5th seeded Indiana Pacers have to be content with splitting the first two games in Cleveland as they now have a perfect opportunity to steal a game at home before having to travel back to the 4th seeded Cleveland.
Cleveland Cavaliers's Latest Performance :
The Cleveland Cavaliers experienced a rough game 1 as they were only able to score 80 points as they lost by 18 points at home and Ty Lue told LeBron that he needed to be more aggressive and play a bigger role if they want to win. Point taken, LeBron came out of the gates on fire for game 2 as he was able to score the first 16 points of the game for the Cavs and the Cavs found themselves up 16-1 only minutes into the game. LeBron didn’t stop after he scored his 16 points as he had 29 at halftime and finished the game with 46 points to go along with 12 rebounds. LeBron scored 46% of the Cavaliers points and was only able to squeeze out a 3 point wins so that leads me to the question: should the Cavaliers be worried? Kevin Love is the 2nd star on the Cavaliers who is more than capable of having a 30 point night, but in game 2 Love’s role was diminished as he was only able to score 15 points. The Cavaliers also endured a scare as Kevin Love took a ball right off the hand he broke towards the beginning of the season and Love was seen wincing of pain while sitting on the bench. The Cavaliers need the offense of a guy like J.R. Smith to heat up as he is a huge part of the Cavaliers success when he is hitting shots.
Indiana Pacers's Latest Performance :
Late Game Rally Not Enough
The Indiana Pacers are not scared of the big bad Cleveland Cavaliers as they not only were able to win game 1 but were also almost able to steal game 2. The Pacers went down 16-1 minutes into the game which put them in position to trail most of the game as they were down 20 late in the 3Q, but the Pacers tightened up on the defensive end and the combination of Oladipo and Collison allowed the Pacers to get the game down to single digits with minutes left. The backcourt duo of Victor Oladipo and Darren Collison played really good in game 2 as Oladipo was able to drop 22 points and Collison was able to drop 16 points. These stats are actually better than the combination of their stats in game 1 as Collison was only able to drop 6 points in game 1, but the blame could fall on a guy like Bojan Bogdanovic who struggled to find his stroke. During game 1 Bogdanovic was an excellent 3rd scorer for the Pacers as he was able to drop 15 points and grab 6 boards but in game 2 Bogdanovic was only able to drop 8 points and pick up 3 boards. The Pacers struggled from three in game 2 as they were only able to shoot 27.2% (6-22) which is a big difference from their game 1 stat line where they shot 39.3% (11-28).

Against The Spread Selection: Cleveland Cavaliers*
My reason for the pick :
The Cavaliers will need to receive better production from Kevin Love and J.R. Smith if they want a shot at winning and I think one of them is due for a big game. LeBron will be LeBron as he will not lose this game as he knows he needs to shoulder the load in order for the Cavs to win. LeBron will win game 4 before he heads back home.
