Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Miami Heat vs Philadelphia 76ers

The 3rd seeded Philadelphia 76ers are happy to return home with a 3-1 series lead as they have the chance to advance to the 2nd round for the first time since the 2011-2012 season and they get to do it in front of their home crowd who have been loyal to this team through the years.

Miami Heat's Latest Performance :

Vintage Wade, Part II

The Miami Heat may be down in the series 3-1, but they have shown that they are not scared of “Trust The Process” as they have had their shot at winning games in this series. Miami Heat fans have seen flashbacks before their eyes as Dwayne Wade isn’t only back in a Heat jersey but has been scoring the same way he was scoring back in 2012. Dwayne Wade matched his game 2 performance where he dropped 28 points off the bench with a 25 point game in Miami during game 4. Wade has been a nice boost off the bench for the Heat as he not only delivers instant scoring but serves as a leader for a young Heat team. The Heat were also able to squeeze a little more production out of their center Hassan Whiteside who has struggled this postseason with finding a role. Whiteside found himself playing more minutes in game 4 as he saw 26 minutes of action where he contributed a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. A reason that the Heat struggled in game 4 may be behind the lack of production from two of their 50 million dollar players in Tyler Johnson and Kelly Olynyk. Johnson and Olynyk saw a major hit in their minutes as Johnson only saw 13 minutes and Olynyk saw 9 where neither scored.

Philadelphia 76ers's Latest Performance :

Production From Everyone

The Philadelphia 76ers have shown why they are legit this season by winning in different ways whether its an equal contribution from everyone in the lineup or a 1 man show behind Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons, or J.J. Redick. Game 4 between the 76ers and the Miami Heat was a very chippy game as the intensity was high in both teams. Ben Simmons showed that he isn’t scared of anyone in the association as he was standing in between all of his teammates barking back to the Heat players even giving a couple of shoves. Ben Simmons has the play to back up his talk as in game 4 he gave the Sixers a triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists and keeps showing the NBA why he is the sure favorite to win rookie of the year.  The Sixers also received a team-high in points from J.J. Redick who was a problem from behind the arc as he dropped 24 points. Even though the 76ers were still able to squeeze out a 106-102 win they will need to cut out the turnover problems as they turned the ball over 27 times. The Sixers were the first team since the 1986 postseason to win a game with more than 27 turnovers, but the Sixers can’t expect to win many more games if this continues.

Against The Spread Selection: Philadelphia 76ers*

My reason for the pick :

The Sixers want nothing more than to not only advance to the 2nd round of the playoffs but clinch the series in front of their home fans. As we have seen throughout the regular season and the playoffs the 76ers have many weapons in their arsenal as they have the ability to win in so many ways. Miami has played hard this series as their intensity has been through the roof but unfortunately, their season comes to rest in game 5 as Philly rolls.
