Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Oklahoma City Thunder vs Utah Jazz
The scenery will shift back to Utah as the Jazz will look to close out this series, meanwhile, the Thunder have other ideas after coming back from a 25 point deficit. They will look to force a potential game 7 back at home.
Oklahoma City Thunder's Latest Performance :
The Thunder were able to extend this series to another game after a historic night from the Brodie Westbrook has he dropped 45 points with 24 points in the second half becoming back from a 25 points deficit the third-largest comeback in NBA playoff history. Russell had to show up tonight to remind everyone how good of a player he is, he is unguardable when he plays with an ultra-aggressive mindset he can score anywhere on the floor. In the final 8:32 the Thunder went on a 37-2 run ending with a Westbrook 3 that tied the game heading into the fourth. Paul George also had himself a game with 34 points 8 rebounds as he and Russ combined for 79 of OKC’s 107 points. Both players played for 44 minutes tonight.
During the 37-2 run, the Thunder did it with Carmelo sitting on the Bench, I am pretty sure they will go back to that lineup that got them back into the game. Carmelo is a great player but in this series, it doesn’t really make sense to have Anthony playing the four as he will just clog up the lane. I do hope he shows us a glimpse of his old self in the next game.
Steven Adams ability to set screens opening up shots for Westbrook will play a huge factor in the next game.
Alex Abrines did a really solid job containing Mitchell in the final minutes in the fourth look for them to call up his number in game six as he is able to spread the floor as he hit a crucial three that extended the Thunder lead to 5.
Player to Watch: Carmelo Anthony I don’t expect Westbrook to have another 45 point night especially when they are playing in Utah, so this would be the time that Anthony finally wakes up after being scoreless in the last 4 games in the 4th quarter and remind us how great of a scorer he is because he will be the difference maker in game 6 to give OKC a chance at a game 7 at home.
Utah Jazz's Latest Performance :
No need to panic for the Jazz, there is no better place to play a closeout game than home. The Jazz will look to bounce back after blowing a 25 point lead they sure looked like they had the game wrapped up being up by 25 and as good as the Jazz are you expected them to close out the series and move on to the conference semis but everyone saw what happen Russell Westbrook decides to put on a show for his fans and keep his season alive. For the next game, the Jazz will have to find ways to limit Westbrook from going off again. This means it will have to take a team effort for that to happen.
Mitchell who has been on fire in this series had only 23 points as the Thunder adjusted by putting Alex Abrines on him but look for him to regain his shooting touch in the next game especially when they are at home where they are 28-13 for the season. Tonight just prove to be a great offensive explosion for the Thunder and the Jazz simply could not keep up and everything starts on the defensive end for the Jazz because that’s how they win games.
In this loss, it showed us how much work Mitchell has to do offensively in order for the Jazz to win so you can’t have him guarding Westbrook because that will tire him out. Since he is the only player who can generate offense for himself. Joe Ingles will have to step up as he was the star in the last game as players are starting to respect his shots and aren’t allowing him to have the looks he had in the previous games so he got to find other ways to be effective on the floor.
The Utah bigs must do a better job staying in the game and try not to pick up silly fouls because that is the Thunder’s game plan to get the Utah Jazz bigs to the bench so they won’t be able to alter or block their shot tonight both Favors and Gobert were playing with 5 fouls midway through the fourth.
For the Jazz to close it out they will have to play great team defense and protect the paint and forcing the Thunder to kick the ball out and shoot the ball late into the shot clock like they did in game 4.
Player to Watch: Rudy Gobert, although he might not be a force on the offensive end the Jazz play extremely well when he is on the floor as they were 28-5 to end the year his presence on the floor really help this Jazz team succeed.

Against The Spread Selection: Oklahoma City Thunder
My reason for the pick :
There will be a game 7 against the Thunder and the Jazz. Westbrook will carry on his last game effort into this game even though he might score as much but he will be very effective on the floor, Carmelo finally shows up and give the Thunder what is missing in their offense.
As for the Jazz, the inexperience will catch up to them as they will feel the pressure from the Thunder showing us why it is so important to have star players on your team because they play well under pressure.
