Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Golden State Warriors vs New Orleans Pelicans

The Pelicans will welcome the Golden State Warriors to the Smoothie King Center as the Pelicans try to avoid going down 3-0.

After solid return from Stephen Curry in game 2, Curry should return to the starting line up for game 3.

The Pelicans will try to contain this Warriors team as they are firing on all cylinders.

Golden State Warriors's Latest Performance :

The Warriors are unstoppable now with Curry back in the line up as he should be starting in game 3 as he dropped 28 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in his return, the shots he was making from outside the arc were ridiculous they were video game like he was 5 for 10 shooting the 3 ball, Curry definitely reminded us how lethal he can be from the outside he only played 27 mins he was plus 26 from the floor, so imagine if he gets his regular minutes.

Kevin Durant had a quiet 29 points in game 2, he scores so effortlessly with his length on the floor the ability to shoot over players and running to the 3 point line on a fast break as a 7′ isn’t something that you are used to seeing, he is on a level of his own and will keep getting better as he will thrive in this Warriors offense.

The Pelicans did put up a great fight but they were overshadowed by the mismatch and with Curry, in the mix, the Warriors is on another level when he plays the ball movement is just beautiful to watch the basketball swinging from side to side and giving up a good shot for a great shot the Warriors got their fundamental down to the core.

If Draymond Green starts hitting threes what can you do, nothing you have to leave him open and hoping that he would miss and play the percentage he was 2 of 5 from distance in game 2. He also had 20 points 9 rebounds and 12 assists another near triple-double for Draymond.

Player to Watch: Stephen Curry, he will be the player that will initiate the Warriors offense as he will try to one-up his game 2 performance as he should be returning to the starting line up. Watch for Curry to put on a shooting clinic as the Warriors try to steal one on the road in New Orleans.

New Orleans Pelicans's Latest Performance :

After watching game 2 in Oakland, the Pelicans really miss DeMarcus Cousins. He could potentially be the difference maker and make this series much more competitive because right now the games are too lopsided, the Pelicans did make a run late in the game but they couldn’t the stop the Warriors ball movement, something that the Pelicans didn’t have to deal with in the Portland series.

Despite having a bad game one Pelicans guard Jrue Holiday responded with a solid night of 24 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists, and Anthony Davis contributed with 25 points and 15 rebounds of his own. Rajon Rondo had 20 points, 12 assists, and 7 rebounds, but the Pelicans big 3 didn’t have an answer as Curry and Durant made plays in the final minutes.

It is always tough for a team to play without one of their stars players this is why having an all-star on a championship squad is very important the Warriors have 4 while the Pelicans have only 2.

The Pelicans will be questioning the referees officiating when they play game 3 at Smoothie King, Anthony Davis played for 40 minutes had 24 shot attempts but didn’t get to the line once in the game. The thing with Davis is that he doesn’t show any aggression when he plays he just plays the right away when he gets hit he rarely complains if it was Kevin Garnett he would let the refs know the whole game.

Davis must amp up his aggression to make the officials conscious about the situation because right now the refs are just letting him get hammered down low because the refs know that Davis won’t say anything. This another reason why the Pelicans desperately needs Cousins back. Cousins brings another level of energy when he plays and always sticks up for his teammates. It’s no longer the regular season it’s the playoffs where you have to leave everything on the line.

Player to watch: At this point, Anthony Davis has to play like LeBron did in game 7 against the Pacers and force the Warriors to send the double team making him give up the ball that’s the only way I see how the Pelicans can pull out a win.

How Golden State Warriors & New Orleans Pelicans Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Pelicans are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Conference Semifinals games.

Warriors are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent allows 100 points or more in their previous game.

Against The Spread Selection: Golden State Warriors

My reason for the pick :

The Golden State Warriors will prove to be too much for the Pelicans to handle, as the Dubs won’t be affected by the change of scenery and pick up a win on the road reminding us what they are capable of when everyone is healthy.

The Warriors will remind us that the championship swagger that has defined them over the past four seasons has gone no where. Warriors to take game 3 on the road.

Betting trends for Golden State Warriors:

  • Warriors are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning straight up record.

Betting trends for New Orleans Pelicans:
