Golden State Warriors's Latest Performance :
Production From Everyone
The Golden State Warriors are not phased by all the hype surrounding the Houston Rockets as this Warriors team is as experienced as any team in the NBA when it comes postseason time, and their 4 all-stars are ready to add another ring to the bunch. The Golden State Warriors have dropped an end of season slump and have everyone 100% again which has led to them continuing their postseason dominance as they beat up on both the Spurs and Pelicans. The thing that makes the Warriors so much better than every other team in the NBA is they share the ball really well which allows everyone to score. The Warriors are led by Kevin Durant who leads the team in PPG with 28 but the 2 guards aren’t too far behind as Curry has 24.5 PPG and Thompson sits at 21.2. We saw this in play in game 5 of their past series against the Pelicans as Curry led the team with 28 but Durant and Thompson sat right behind him with 24 and 23. The Warriors have been known for their space out offense but they host a very vital piece who can do damage down low and can spread out the floor in Draymond Green. Green is often the forgotten piece of this Warriors team as he isn’t too flashy in the scoring department (13.1 PPG) but Green is a juggernaut on the boards as he averages 11.5 RPG and is the best defender on the roster. The Warriors starting lineup is arguably the best in the history of the NBA but they need to push a little more points out of their bench if they want to win this series as they bench averages 6.6 PPG.
Houston Rockets's Latest Performance :
Can The Backcourt Duo Lead The Way?
The Houston Rockets have made it apparent that they are not a fluke as they have carried their regular season dominance into the postseason as they have gone 8-2 through their first two series, but they will not be put to the test against the Warriors who have been residents in the Finals the last few years. The Rockets all year have hopped onto the back of their amazing backcourt duo that includes the probable MVP James Harden and veteran Chris Paul. We have seen this duo work well together and pick up each other’s slack when one of them isn’t having a good game. An example of this was in their most recent playoff series when Chris Paul went off for 41 points and 10 assits which made up for Harden only scoring 18. James Harden has been the leader of this team for years now and he is on a misson to elevate his legacy to another level with a championship. Harden is averaging 28.5 PPG, 7.4 APG, 2.3 SPG which are all team highs and his backcourt mate in Chris Paul sits right behind him with 21.8 PPG and 6.4 APG. The backcourt duo will be a problem for the Warriors but another advantage the Rockets can have is their down low play with Clint Capela. Clint Capela has been a force this postseason as he averages a double-double with 14.4 PPG and 12.2 RPG which can be a mismatch for the Warriors as they don’t have a true center. If the Rockets can assert their dominance with their guards and have a post game they will find themselves on the winning end of this series.

Against The Spread Selection: Houston Rockets -1.5
My reason for the pick :
The Houston Rockets are the #1 seed for a reason as they have dominated their competition this season especially in the Western Conference where they went 41-11. James Harden and Chris Paul both have aspirations of making their first NBA final and this year may be their best chance as they boost a high flying offense and a ton of solid role players. Golden State has been here too often and they may think they can walk all over the Rockets but game 1 will be a different story as the Rockets will bring their best effort to make sure they secure a home win in front of their home crowd.
