Cleveland Cavaliers's Latest Performance :
LeBron James Show
The 2018 Cleveland Cavaliers have been one of the most talked about teams in NBA history whether it be good or bad as this team has endured a crazy amount of ups and downs throughout the season, but through it all the Cavaliers MVP LeBron James hasn’t slowed down for no one. Game 4 was a prime example of the production of LeBron James as the 15-year veteran was able to record yet another 40 point game as the superstar dropped 44 points behind a 17 for 28 shooting game. This has just become the standard for LeBron as he has been the only consistent scorer this season win or loss, but we have seen what this Cavaliers team could be when they receive the slightest amount of production from the other guys. Game 4 was a prime example of that as Kyle Korver had a great game in terms of scoring as the sharpshooting veteran dropped 14 points. Tristan Thompson was also a major contributor to the Cavaliers success as the center was able to record 13 points and 12 rebounds. The Cavaliers had a different form of energy built inside them as Ty Lue has gotten this team to amp up their play as they are often seen hustling for every loose ball and going for every rebound which was apparent in the stat sheet. One thing that the Cavaliers want to improve on is the production out of big man Kevin Love who went missing in game 4. The stretch big has shown flashes of the 2nd scorer for LeBron but he has also continued to show struggles and game 4 was one of those examples as he only went 3 for 12 from the field.
Boston Celtics's Latest Performance :
The Boston Celtics have proven that home court advantage is a true advantage as they have gone undefeated at home in the first 2 rounds of the playoffs, and the young Celtics need nothing more than their home crowd to get behind them after enduring some road struggles. The Celtics were outplayed in game 4 as the Cavaliers didn’t only show better play but better effort as they were consistently going hard on both ends of the court. The Celtics have been solid in keeping the Cavaliers off the boards all series but game 4 was not as pretty as they were outrebounded by 10 and had no guy record double-digit rebounds. Outside of LeBron James having an amazing game, the defense for the Celtics was solid as they were able to force 18 Cavalier turnovers as well as hold them to 34.8% from three-point range. The Boston Celtics were also able to continue to receive offensive production throughout their lineup as every single starter recorded double-figures points. Jaylen Brown has continued to shine in the go-to guy role as the 2nd year guard dropped 25 points behind a 10 for 23 game from the field. Although Marcus Smart record 8 points off the bench he didn’t have the best game in terms of shooting as the guard went 2 for 8 from the field and 1 for 5 from three-point land. The Celtics will have to get their field goal percentage up as they only shot 41.2% which is well below the Cleveland Cavaliers percentage as they went 50.6. To put things in perspective the last Boston Celtics win which was in game 2 the Celtics outshot the Cavaliers 51.2 % to 36% which led to a 25 point victory.

Against The Spread Selection: Cleveland Cavaliers +1
My reason for the pick :
The Cleveland Cavaliers have figured out the highly touted Brad Stevens defense and we have finally seen the lack of superstar talent catch up to the young Celtics team. LeBron James has elevated his play to another level as the King is on a mission to return to the NBA Finals once again and he hasn’t been only able to get himself points but also get his teammates to give a little more production. The Cavaliers have not been good on defense especially in the regular season but since it’s the playoffs the Cavs have revamped their defensive efforts which has become obvious as they have held the Celtics to an average of 94 points in Cleveland wins. The Cavaliers don’t only have the better player in LeBron James but they have the momentum and I just don’t see the starless Celtics team overcoming the King.
