Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Houston Rockets vs Golden State Warriors

The Warriors are on the brink of elimination as they are trying to avoid losing in 6 they will do all they can to force a game 7. The Rockets will have other ideas as they are already one foot into the finish line.

Houston Rockets's Latest Performance :

The Rockets were able to pull out a win at home over the Golden State Warriors in game 5. Game 5 winner in best of 7 series tied 2-2 advances 83% of the time. James Harden didn’t shoot the ball well at all from distance he went 0 of 11 but still managed to get to the line 9 times and did not miss a single free throw, Harden finished the game with 19 points. Chris Paul came up huge for the Rockets in game 5 scoring 18 of his 20 points in the second half including two clutch threes but was unfortunate at the end of the game he landed awkwardly and injured his hamstring. Chris Paul is still doubtful for game 6.

Eric Gordon won the game for the Rockets in game 5 as he hit timely threes in the 4th to extend the Rockets lead he has really been the Rockets X-factor in this series every time Eric Gordon plays well the team will most likely win the game. He finished the game with 24 points, as the Rockets take a 3-2 lead and a chance to close this series out in Oakland and get the opportunity to advance to the NBA Finals.

The Rockets will have to be aware that Andre Iguodala might return after missing two straight games as he is the Golden State best perimeter defender as he could possibly be the gamechanger in game 6. The Rockets will have to stick to their gameplan if it ain’t broken don’t fix it. The Rockets will have to turn KD into an isolation player because that would ruin the ball movement of the Golden State Warriors.

Player to Watch: James Harden, the MVP will have to carry his team because from the way it looks Chris Paul might miss game 6. Harden can’t afford to have another¬†5/21 shooting night. For the Rockets to close out this game on the road Harden will have to put up 40 points.

Golden State Warriors's Latest Performance :

The Warriors will have to bring back the Hampton 5 line up in game 6, I expect Andre Iguodala to return to the line up after missing two games as he has now shown that the Finals MVP is the heart of this GSW team. The Warriors offense has become stagnant and they are not moving the ball like they use to, they failed to give the ball to Klay Thompson who was their most reliable perimeter shooter this game, he had 23 points shooting 8 for 13 from the floor.

Kevin Durant has been playing really bad these last two games in the 4th quarter, he had 8 points 1 for 9 shooting. He has simply vanished when the team needed him the most. He should be exploiting every mismatch that he gets but instead, he has been afraid of the limelight.¬† In the last game he passes to Klay who was getting trapped instead of taking the shot, and this game he pulls another Houdini. KD time to step up when it counts which is game 6 at home. The Warriors bench must do a better job having 4 points isn’t going to get the job done. The Big men of the Warriors will have to show up because right now they are non-existent in this series.

I expect the Warriors to come out gunning in game 6 because it will be an embarrassment if they lost at home in 6 games after all the star power they have on the team, Curry will have to be at his best or else they will pack their bags very early. The Golden State Warriors will have to move the ball as they can’t afford to lose yet another game because of isolation basketball.

Player to Watch: Kevin Durant, he must show up in game 6, he is one of the greatest players in the world after his two embarrassing 4th quarter I expect him to show up and have a monster night at home.

Against The Spread Selection: Golden State Warriors

My reason for the pick :

The Golden State Warriors will force a game 7 back in Houston. The Rockets are missing Chris Paul due to the hamstring injury at the end of game 5. Harden will have a great game but then he will soon realize that he can’t do it alone. Iguodala will be the heart of the Warriors defense as he will show the Warriors what they have been missing the last two game. Kevin Durant will have a statement game as he will lead the Warriors in scoring.

Game 7 back in Houston the series is not over yet.
