Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Boston Celtics

With the series tied and neither team has lost at home it will all come down to this, a decisive game 7. A lot will be on the line for this game as the Celtics will look to remain undefeated at home while LeBron will do all he can to bring back another championship to the city of Cleveland.

Cleveland Cavaliers's Latest Performance :

The Cavaliers have forced a game 7 back in Boston, LeBron James was on another level tonight as he couldn’t be stopped he showed up as advertised dropping 46 points a new career high in an elimination game. James really put his team on his back, he did this without Kevin Love who went out earlier in the game because of the collision he had with Tatum. Without Kevin Love presence on the floor, other players needed to step up and they surely did George Hill had a career playoff-high with 20 points and Jeff Green contributed with 14 points filling in for Love. LeBron had 46 while the other starters had 27 points. Kyle Korver really stepped up on defense in game 6 as he worked through the adversity and made Brown worked for his shot on the block.

When James hit two demoralizing back-to-back stepback threes late in the 4th. He just ended the game and sent a strong message for Game 7. It will be a game that you would not want to miss.

In Game 7, the Cavs will need Hill to have great back to back games he only scored 7 points in their last road game and attempting only 5 shots, the Cavs will have to go to him early like they did tonight to give him the confidence that he will need when the game enters crunch time. Without Hill’s 20 points effort the Cavs would have lost at home. To beat the Celtics at home one of the Cavs backcourt must show up otherwise the game won’t end well if you are Cavs fan.

Player to Watch: LeBron James, he has had either a triple-double or a 40 point game in each of his last 7 elimination games. In this game, his legacy is on the line as he doesn’t want to lose out in TD Garden again. I expect another 40 point game from the King. We are witnessing greatness.

Boston Celtics 's Latest Performance :

No need to panic for the Boston Celtics fan as they got the Cavs where they want them playing at home where the team is currently undefeated in this postseason. It wasn’t like the Celtics had a bad game, LeBron was simply too much for them to handle in game 6. Terry Rozier finally came alive on the road as he dropped 28 points nailing 6 threes, Jalen Brown had himself a solid night with 27 points. Game 6 was a very winnable game for the Celtics because the Cavs were playing without Kevin Love.

This Game 6 lost is on Al Horford he didn’t play great at all and choked once again when he had the opportunity to beat LeBron on the road, I expected him to be more aggressive when Kevin Love went down with an injury but instead, he had 0 points in the first half and finished the game with 6. He simply did not show up when his team needed him most. If Horford was able to score at least 15 the Celtics would have easily cruized to a game 6 victory over the Cavs. This is what separates a great player from a good player. He will need to show up in game 7 for the Celtics to win, if not Horford will career will be labeled as the center who could not beat LeBron.

For the Celtics to win at home they will have to shut down the Cavs backcourt and not allow them to have any impact on the game, make wear out LeBron let him do everything and keep the other guys out of the picture. The Celtics know that LeBron will get his numbers but they can’t afford to let Hill have another 20 point performance. The Celtics will have to limit the Cavs on the offensive rebound in game 7 as they lost out on the board they were outrebounded by 10.

Player to Watch: Jayson Tatum, he will look to have a bounce-back game after a 15 point effort in game 6. He will remember the two stepback threes that LeBron hit over him, he will use that as motivation to have a monster game 7 back at home.

Against The Spread Selection: Cleveland Cavaliers

My reason for the pick :

Although I am an analytics guy it is hard to bet against the greatest player of our generation LeBron James, even though the Celtics haven’t lost all postseason at home but if there is one player who can do it, it’s LeBron James. It won’t be an easy victory for the Cavs because the Celtics player will be discipline on the defensive end, his teammates will have to show up but in the end, LeBron will come out victorious in Game 7 beating out the Celtics for the first time in the Garden.

Betting trends for Cleveland Cavaliers:

  • Cavaliers are 8-18 ATS in their last 26 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.

Betting trends for Boston Celtics :

  • Celtics are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
