Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Golden State Warriors vs Houston Rockets

It is the first time since 1979 that both conferences are going to play a game 7. James Harden will have the opportunity to take the Rockets back to the Finals since 1995, as the Warriors will be looking to advance to the Finals again but it will be the first time that they will be on the road. This is a game that you don’t want to miss.

Golden State Warriors's Latest Performance :

The Warriors came out firing on all cylinders in game 6 as they were able to force a game 7 back in Houston. The Warriors finally gave Klay Thompson got his shot and he did not disappoint as he dropped 35 points 9 for 14 from beyond the arc, he was simply unstoppable for the Warriors in game 6. Klay Thompson is too good not to give him the ball. He has proved time and time again that he capable of leading this GSW team in the scoring department. Curry also showed up in game 6 as he had 29 points hitting 5 threes. The Warriors showed up tonight outscoring the Rockets in the second half and only allow the Rockets to score 9 points in the 4th quarter.

Everyone expected the Warriors to come out and win game 6 at home and force a game 7 but no one expected this kind of scoring outburst. This tells us how good this Warriors team can be if everyone on the team is shooting lights out, the Warriors get the majority of their points from exquisite ball movement this why they are unguardable at times because it is impossible for the opposing team to switch out on the perimeter and guard everyone because every shot is good shot when the ball is moving.

For the Warriors to win game 7 they will have to continue to play with ball movement and don’t allow their offense to become stagnant avoid isolation basketball. Kevin Durant has to exploit all the mismatch that he will face and Curry can’t afford to have another bad shooting night on the road.

Player to Watch: Klay Thompson, give him the ball and allow him to operate he has shown you time and time again that he capable of being the number one option on the team so I say let him shine on the biggest stage of the Western Conference Finals, Klay will show up in game 7 and remind us yet again that he is one of the best two way players in the NBA today.

Houston Rockets's Latest Performance :

The Rockets came out gunning in game 6 in the first half hitting shots left and right at first it felt like they were going to advance to the finals without their second best player CP3 but it was a totally different story in the second half as the Rockets went completely cold scoring only 9 points in the 4th quarter. The Rockets got outscored by the Warriors 64-25 in the 2nd half. James Harden finished the game with 32 points but he had no help with Paul being out, he did all he can but it was simply not enough, game 6 reminded us how valuable is Chris Paul to this Rockets team. You live by the 3 you die by the 3, Once they got the lead the Rockets should have kept being patient especially putting Curry in the pick and roll then attack him to pass to the open man or drive for the wide open 3. Instead, they started to shoot wild shots in the second half. That’s where CP3 would of help with his intelligence.

They were simply outplayed by the Warriors in the second half giving up 3 after 3 is unacceptable, Eric Gordon who was inserted into the starting line up only had 19 points and Clint Capela only had 2 points. Everything has been said already now it all comes down to a game 7 who wants it more. The Rockets have worked all season long for homecourt advantage against the Warriors all they need to do now is show up and lay it all on the line.

For the Rockets to win game 7 the role players must play well it will take a collective effort for this Rockets team to beat Warriors. This means the Tucker, Ariza, Green, and Gordon must be making all the wide open threes the Warriors are giving them, the Rockets must force the Warriors to play isolation basketball and limit their ball movement.

Player to Watch: James Harden, all eyes will be on him this game as his legacy is on the line, will he finally get past the Warriors, he will be playing at home in front of his home crowd, I expect him to have the best game of his career and leave everything on the floor.

How Golden State Warriors & Houston Rockets Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points.

Warriors are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 Conference Finals games.

Against The Spread Selection: Golden State Warriors

My reason for the pick :

The Golden State Warriors will be advancing to the NBA Finals yet again as they will beat the Houston Rockets on the road. The Rockets won’t be able to keep up with the Warriors, the Warriors simply have too many weapons and James Harden can’t beat them by himself. When CP3 went down with the injury the Rockets took a huge blow.

It has been a great season for Harden but he will fall to Warriors yet again and he will now remember in order to beat the Warriors you must have at least 2 all stars on the team because they are extremely talented.

Klay Thompson will carry over his shooting stroke from game 6 into game 7 as he will be scoring at will leading the Golden State Warriors another NBA Finals.

Betting trends for Golden State Warriors:

  • Warriors are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 Monday games.

Betting trends for Houston Rockets:

  • Rockets are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.
