Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Charlotte Hornets vs Toronto Raptors
The Raptors will welcome the Hornets to Scotiabank Arena to open up a three-game homestand the Raptors have yet to lose this season with wins coming against the Cavs, Celtics, and Wizards while the Hornets are coming off a victory against the Heat. Game tips off at 7:30 PM ET.
Charlotte Hornets's Latest Performance :
The Hornets are coming off a close victory against the Heat led by Kemba Walker 39 points explosion. He was shooting 14-for-31 from the floor that 39 point effort put him over 10,000 for his career. He set an NBA record for 3-pointers made in the first three games of a season, with 19. Could this be the year that Kemba carry this Hornets team back into playoffs contention? Kemba got help from his running mate as Malik Monk scored 15 points seven of his points were scored in the 4th quarter. The Hornets must not rely on Kemba to be the only player scoring other players on the team have to contribute as well. Playing against the Raptors will be a challenge for this Hornets team because if you lock down Kemba there aren’t many options on offense. Lamb must shoot better from the floor or else the Hornets will have no chance of beating this Raptors team.
Player to watch: Kemba Walker, he will continue to do his thing for the Hornets he is doing the best he can to put the Hornets on his back. He is a scoring machine for this Hornets team but he can’t be the only player making plays individual stats may look nice on paper but that doesn’t result in wins.
Toronto Raptors's Latest Performance :
The Raptors are coming off a win against the Wizards even without having Kawhi in the starting rotation. Kyle Lowry had to carry the team offensively in this game as he scored 28 points with three rebounds, 12 assists, one steal, one block in 35 minutes of action. Lowry looked comfortable running the offense against the Wizard picking his shot on the floor and shooting the basketball with confidence. Pascal Siakam was impressive off the bench as he scored 10 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Serge Ibaka continued his great point production as he scored 16 points. Van Vleet threw up a prayer and his shot won the game for the Raptors. Kawhi is coming back against the Hornets, this will give the Raptors flexibility on the offense.
Player to watch: Kyle Lowry, he will be responsible for Kemba Walker in this game, he will have to do his best going up against Walker and run him off the three-point line. Kyle would be glad that Kawhi is coming back because he can focus more on stopping Walker rather than think to score.
How Charlotte Hornets & Toronto Raptors Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Raptors are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600.
Hornets are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.
Against The Spread Selection: Toronto Raptors
My reason for the pick :
The Raptors shouldn’t have any problem beating out the Hornets at home, on paper the Raptors have a much better team and with Kawhi returning from his rest, it makes it a no-brainer to who will come up on top. Coach Nick is developing a system that is beneficial for the Raptors players you can see it in their flow of the offense. Lowry finally played well in his last game after struggling in his first two. It will be hard for any team to stop the Raptors if Lowry and Kawhi are hitting the target. For the Hornets, Kemba will have another great effort but it won’t be enough to beat the Raptors.
