Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Washington Wizards vs Portland Trail Blazers
The Blazers will welcome the Wizards to Moda Centre to conclude their three-game homestand, the Blazers are currently undefeated this season while the Wizards have now lost two games in a row. Game tips off at 10:00 PM ET.
Washington Wizards's Latest Performance :
Dwight Howard won’t be making the west coast trip. He is set to miss Monday’s game against the Blazers which will result in Ian Mahinmi earning another start. In his last start he scored three points with one rebound, one steal and two blocks in 12 minutes, he won’t have an impact offensively but he is out there just waiting for Dwight to return. This means the offensive responsibility will have to go to the Wizards backcourt Wall and Beal. The Wizards are coming off a terrific effort despite the loss against the Raptors. Beal scored 32 points with three rebounds, six assists, one block, one steal, and six 3-pointers with those six treys he passes Agent Zero for the most threes made in franchise history. He will get to guard McCollum who has a similar playing style. They both operate from behind the line.
Player to watch: John Wall, he had 25 points in his last time out despite dealing with migraines he should be ready to go on Monday. He will be going up against Lillard.
Portland Trail Blazers's Latest Performance :
The Blazers are coming off a dominant victory against the Spurs. Leading the charge was yet again Damien Lillard as he had an efficient night from the floor shooting 9-of-15 and 8-of-8 from the free throw line he ended the game with 29 points. He was in control of the Blazers offense getting to his spot with ease, posting up smaller players when he needed to. C.J. McCollum also chipped in with 24 points of his own. The Blazers backcourt combined for 53 points in this game. The Spurs had no answer for them. Playing against the Wizards both CJ and Lillard will have to be ready to face off against Wall and Beal. With Dwight Howard not playing it will be an opportunity for Zach Collins to shine as he was able to put up 11 points in only 15 minutes of action.
Player to watch: Damien Lillard, he will be looking forward to the challenge going up against John Wall, it will be a great point guard matchup. He will have to carry the Blazers team if they want to come out of this game as winners.
How Washington Wizards & Portland Trail Blazers Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Trail Blazers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points.
Wizards are 1-8 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
Against The Spread Selection: Portland Trail Blazers
My reason for the pick :
The Blazers will remain undefeated as they will take down the Wizards at home. This game will go down to the wire as the two backcourts will battle each other out with the Blazers backcourt outscoring the Wizards. The Wizards who are missing their starting Centre will struggle to protect their paint this would lead to Nurkic and Collins having a great offensive game and that will be the difference maker. The Wizards aren’t healthy yet but they definitely need their big man in the middle for them to pick up their first win of the season.
Betting trends for Washington Wizards:
- Wizards are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 when their opponent scores 100 points or more in their previous game.
Betting trends for Portland Trail Blazers:
- Trail Blazers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Eastern Conference.
