Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Utah Jazz vs Houston Rockets
The Rockets will return home to begin their three-game homestand against the Jazz. The Rockets will be looking to bounce back after the loss against the Clippers while the Jazz has now lost two straight games. Game tips off at 8:00 PM ET
Utah Jazz's Latest Performance :
The Jazz will be looking to get back into the win column after dropping two games in a row. The Jazz defense had no answer for the Memphis offense as they were scoring with ease in the paint. The Jazz wasn’t shooting well from outside either, they only made eight of 32 threes. It is going to hard to win games with that shooting percentage. After taking down the Warriors they were faced with an old style of basketball pound the paint and let the big man operate that caught them off guard big time. Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell’s early-season struggles continued, as he scored just 14 points on 6-for-17 shooting, including going 1 of 7 from 3-point range. Joe Ingles, who came into the matchup averaging 24.5 points per game while shooting 70.4 percent from the field and 64.7 percent from 3-point range as he finished with just nine points on 4-for-13 shooting overall, including 1 for 7 from 3-point range. Gobert finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and a pair of blocks. Going up a fast pace team like the Rockets who are playing without their star point guard could be beneficial for the Jazz to get back into the win column.
Houston Rockets's Latest Performance :
The Rockets will be still without Chris Paul in their line up, without Chris Paul presence on the floor makes it hard for the Rockets to run their regular offense because they will have to ask James Harden to do too much of course he might have a great stat line but it won’t be enough to lead the Rockets to a win. He scored 31 points and handed out a season-high 14 assists in his last time out. It was no surprise that he was able to dish out 14 dimes as he is now controlling the Rockets offense. Houston took another blow as James Ennis is expected to be out for the next 2 or 3 games because of a hamstring injury. The Rockets will need more out of Carmelo Anthony as he has yet hit double digit in scoring this season as he is still adjusting to his new role coming off the bench. Going up against the Jazz will be a challenge as they play great team basketball. The Rockets have taken a step back due to their wing defenders that they failed to resign during the off-season.
How Utah Jazz & Houston Rockets Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Rockets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a straight up loss.
Jazz are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400.
Against The Spread Selection: Houston Rockets -2.5
My reason for the pick :
Returning to Toyota Centre will be huge for the Rockets in this game as they will take down the Jazz handing them their second straight loss of the season. James Harden will be more comfortable controlling the offense at home as he will set up his teammates left and right in this game. For the Utah Jazz, Mitchell can’t seem to find his shot yet in his second season as he continues to struggle shooting from the floor. They will be a lot of three’s in this game as the Rockets will come up on top against the Jazz in this one.
