Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Brooklyn Nets vs New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans are on a four-game homestand as they will welcome the Nets to Smoothie King Center. The Pelicans will be looking for their 4th win in a row to start the season while the Nets are coming off a blowout victory over the Cavs. Game tips off at 8:00 PM ET.
Brooklyn Nets 's Latest Performance :
The Nets will look to build on a victory against the Cavs as the task doesn’t get any easier as they play the Pelicans next. Leading the charge in the last game for the Nets was Russell he had 18 points and eight assists had him looking like his old self, as he led the Nets through a fierce third-quarter attack. They went on an 18-1 run in the 3rd giving them a much-needed victory after a 20 point blows out loss in their last game. Caris LeVert made 5-of-12 from the field for 10 points with six rebounds, four assists. All five starters finished in double figures, while the bench combined for 36 points, led by Ed Davis who posted 10 points and 10 rebounds in 17 minutes. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson made his debut with the team by scoring 8 points and 8 rebounds. It will be a tough matchup for the Nets going up against Davis this early into the season, they are undefeated for a reason and the Nets don’t have an answer for Davis down low in this game.
New Orleans Pelicans's Latest Performance :
The Pelicans can’t be stopped as they took down the Clippers in convincing fashion. Anthony Davis continued his hot start to the season with 34-point and 13-rebound. He is averaging 30.3 points, 13 rebounds and 3.3 blocks per game this season, shot 11-of-21 from the field. Davis was dominant in the paint, scoring with dunks, put-backs, and alley-oops. He also connected with two of three attempts from beyond the three-point arc. Elfrid Payton was efficient from the floor as he connected with 7-for-11 from the floor. Sometimes you just need a fresh start Payton looks like a much better player than he did a couple years ago. He already has a triple-double on the season and has had at least 10 points, six rebounds and six assists in all three of his games this season. He and Davis are developing a strong chemistry as the season progresses. Nikola Mirotic hit 7-of-18 shots for 18 points, 12 rebounds, it was his second double-double in three games, his first without at least five 3-pointers, and his first game with fewer than 30 points. He’s found a home in New Orleans. The Pelicans are the real deal this season, I expect them to have their ways against Brooklyn.
How Brooklyn Nets & New Orleans Pelicans Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Pelicans are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
Nets are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a straight up win of more than 10 points.
Against The Spread Selection: New Orleans Pelicans -9.5
My reason for the pick :
The Pelicans will remain undefeated as they will take down the Nets to win their 4th win in a row. As per usual Anthony Davis will have his way offensively as he is making an early case for MVP. The Nets are a decent team to start the season but they are nowhere near the level that the Pelicans are playing. I am going with the Pelicans winning this game big at home.
