Phoenix Suns vs Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies will welcome the Phoenix Suns to FedEx Forum as the two teams will be meeting for the first time this season. The Grizzlies are coming off a lost against the Kings while the Suns will be looking to get back into the win column after dropping three straight. Game tips off at 8:00 PM ET.
Phoenix Suns's Latest Performance :
After a surprise win in the season opener, the Suns have reverted back into old habits as they drop 3 straight games and all the games that they have lost have been blowouts. It is not a great time to be a Suns fan at the moment. The franchise claims that this season will be the season that we will make improvements but it seems like the team still looks the same but with just new players on the court. The Suns lack ball-movements and they rely too much on Booker while all the others stand there and ball-watch. The Suns might not be without Booker he strained left hamstring in the third quarter. The Suns have a long way to go to become relevant in the league again and one player can’t make a team better it must take a collective effort from everyone and show that they have the desire that they want to win because right now the Sun’s player demeanor says otherwise. Going up against the Memphis without Booker will be a tough task it will be interesting to see who will step up on the road.
Memphis Grizzlies's Latest Performance :
The Memphis Grizzlies took a huge blow against the Kings as their star player Marc Gasol went with a neck injury the good thing is he is listed day to day. If Marc doesn’t return back on time for the Suns game Jaren Jackson should make the start at Center. Mike Conley played well in his last game as he is starting to look more and more comfortable on the floor. He scored 27 points on 10-22 shooting and 4-11 from three. He added five assists and six rebounds. Kyle Anderson will have to step up his game if Gasol isn’t back in the starting lineup he can’t afford to shoot 2-for-5 from the floor for 5 points in the game. Jaren Jackson will go up against fellow rookie Ayton in his next game. Jackson is still trying to figure out his game it will take some time for the 19-year-old to figure out his playing style in the NBA. It is tough for him to be put in a situation that you have to lead the team right away but with veterans like Conley and Gasol, it helps the transition to the pros much easier.
How Phoenix Suns & Memphis Grizzlies Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a straight up loss.
Suns are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Southwest.
Against The Spread Selection: Phoenix Suns
My reason for the pick :
The Suns will be able to steal this game on the road against Memphis as the two teams best players are out because of injury. The Suns will have the number one draft pick Ayton as I expect the Suns will run the offense through him. It will be a great duel between the two rookies big man Jaren Jackson and Ayton. Once Ayton gets it going down low he will open up opportunities for Ariza and Anderson to hit three’s from the corners. Go with the Suns in this game.
