Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Denver Nuggets vs Chicago Bulls

The red-hot Denver Nuggets will visit the struggling Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night at 8 pm EST at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.  The Bulls have lost two of their last three games, overall, while also dropping two of three home games this year.  Their last home loss came at the hands of the Golden State Warriors on Monday night by a 149-124 score as Clay Thompson hit 14 three pointers for the game en route to the blowout victory.  The Nuggets won their fifth game in six outings as they edged the Pelicans at home by a 116-111 score as Gary Harris scored nine of his 23 points in the fourth quarter to bring Denver to a 5-1 record for the year.  The Nuggets are 4-0 ATS in the last four games in Chicago while the over has been the play in six of seven games in the last seven meetings in Chicago.

Denver Nuggets 's Latest Performance :

The Nuggets got 23 points from Gary Harris while Jamal Murray also had 23 points and five boards on the night as the Denver Nuggets followed up their first loss of the season with a huge win over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night.  And while the Pelicans shot over 50% for the game along with 46% from three-point range, the Nuggets shot 45% from the floor while shooting a dismal 31% from three-point range.  Nonetheless, the Nuggets were assisted by a second quarter outburst to where they outscored the road team 38-21 to go up 58-45 at the half en route to a slim victory.  The Pelicans played this game without Anthony Davis, who has a sprained right elbow, however, Nikola Miritic took up much of the slack in having 17 points and ten rebounds while Julius Randle chipped in 24 to lead New Orleans.  The Pelicans doomed themselves with 22 turnovers for the game while also allowing 14 steals for the Nuggets on the night in the loss.

Chicago Bulls's Latest Performance :

The Bulls are averaging 110 points per game this year, however, are allowing opponents to score 120 points per outing as they are losers of five of seven games to begin he 2018 season.  Furthermore, they are 1-2 ATS in their last three games while in their last two losses, they have allowed at least 135 points while putting up and average of 115 points per game during this time.  Their lone win recently came on the road versus the Atlanta Hawks by a 97-85 score on October 27th.  Their last loss was at the hands of the defending champs in the Golden State Warriors as they were outscored by a 92-50 margin in the first half.   Nonetheless, despite the Bulls outscoring the Warriors 74-57 in the second half, they suffered the loss with Zack Levine and Antonio Blakeney having 21 points each for Chicago while Clay Thompson had a career night for Golden State with 52 points while going 18-29 from the field along with 14-24 from the three-point arc.

The Warriors dominated in assists in racking up 34 compared to 25 for the Bulls in the contest.  Kris Dunn, Bobby Portis and Denzel Valentine are all out with injuries for the Bulls which caused them to be shorthanded in the game and they will be out until November or, at the latest, early December.

Chicago is 3-4 ATS while the OU is 4-3

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

The Nuggets seek to maintain their successful play this season while the Bulls are reeling early in the season due to a sever lack of consistency and cohesiveness on both sides of the court due to youth and, most importantly, injuries.  They look to somehow reverse the trends as they are 2-1 SU at home despite only covering in one game at United Center for the year.  On the other hand, the Nuggets are 4-2 ATS this year, however, are 0-2 in their last two outings, overall.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Denver Nuggets

My reason for the pick :

With the injuries for the Bulls mounting up, thus affecting their play on the court, I will back the Nuggets in this contest on Wednesday.  The Nuggets have had players step up on both sides of the ball lately and will certainly look to regain their mojo from their outstanding start to the season after losing on the road to the Lakers on Thursday night.  In all, the Bulls will make this game interesting, however, Denver has certainly been playing lights out early on and will come out with a victory in the end.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the under in this contest as it has been the play in three of the last five games for the Nuggets while being the result in three of the last five games for the Bulls as well.  Also, combine this with the fact that the Bulls are not at full strength due to injuries, I am certain that the overall score will remain low in this game.  With that being said, expect the scoring for the Bulls to continue to take a huge hit.  On the other hand, the Nuggets are averaging 113 points per game while allowing just 105 points to their opponents.  In all, look for the score to remain low and competitive in this matchup with the Nuggets coming out on top.

Betting trends for Denver Nuggets :

  • Under is 4-0-1 in Nuggets last 5 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

  • Over is 8-1 in Nuggets last 9 vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

  • Nuggets are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game.

Betting trends for Chicago Bulls:

  • Over is 5-0 in Bulls last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home.

  • Over is 5-0 in Bulls last 5 vs. a team with a winning straight up record.

  • Bulls are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
