Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

New Orleans Pelicans vs Minnesota Timberwolves

The Wolves will welcome the Pelicans to Target Center as they are coming off a victory against the Nets while the Pelicans were able to take down the Raptors in their last game. Game tips off at 8:00 PM ET.

New Orleans Pelicans's Latest Performance :

The Pelicans are riding a three-game winning streak as they were able to take down the Raptors on the road handing the Raptors their first home loss of the season. E’Twaun Moore was impressive for the Pelicans as he scored 17 points in the first half and ended the game with a season-high 30 points. Davis contributed a dominant performance on both ends of the floor, finishing with 25 points, 20 rebounds, six assists and two blocks in nearly 40 minutes of action. Jrue Holiday added 29 points and a game-high 14 assists and Julius Randle scored 17 points to go with 12 rebounds as the Pelicans snapped a five-game road losing streak. It was Randle second straight start as he looking more and more comfortable in the starting role playing alongside Davis. If he is able to keep up his performance he might end up taking the starting spot from Mirotic. Once the Pelicans started to shoot the ball well things started to open up for them on the offensive end they are hoping to replicate that when they face the Wolves.

Minnesota Timberwolves's Latest Performance :

The Wolves were able to pick up their first win without Jimmy Bulter. Leading the way for the Wolves was Karl-Anthony Towns he scored 25 points (9-of-11 FGs, 5-of-6 FTs) with a season-high 21 rebounds. It was his seventh career game with at least 20 boards although his team came out with the win he must do a better job of taking care of the basketball as he turned the ball over 10 times. He will be matched up against Davis in this game with Butler gone look for Towns to be the focal point of the Wolves offense. Jeff Teague returned after six-games scoring 24 points with a season-high 11 dimes and three steals. He started alongside Derrick Rose who also had it going he scored 23 points (8-of-18 FGs, 4-of-4 FTs) with six assists, two rebounds, one steal, one block, and three triples. It still remains to be seen what will happen to Rose’s minutes with Robert Covington and Dario Saric joining the team. He has been playing too well to be benched although he might not get the start I expect Rose to be playing 30 plus minutes. The Wolves will be playing more team basketball focusing on ball movement rather than playing isolation. They still have a lot of great talent left on the team after trading away Butler.

How New Orleans Pelicans & Minnesota Timberwolves Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Timberwolves are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.

Pelicans are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.

Against The Spread Selection: New Orleans Pelicans

My reason for the pick :

After losing six games in a row it is great to see the Pelicans bounce back as they will take down the Wolves on the road for their 4th straight win. Anthony Davis will get the better of Towns as he will remind us why he is the best big man in the league right now who can do it all. Randle complements Davis so well as he will have another great game as a starter.  The Wolves with Covington and Saric joining the team will have to work on their team chemistry as it will take them some games to be on the same page. Pick the Pelicans to win on the road in this game.

Betting trends for New Orleans Pelicans:

  • Pelicans are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.

Betting trends for Minnesota Timberwolves:

  • Timberwolves are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record.
