Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Denver Nuggets vs Milwaukee Bucks

The Denver Nuggets will travel to Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to battle the red hot Milwaukee Bucks on Monday night at 8 p.m. eastern time.   The Denver Nuggets are coming off their first loss in five outings as they suffer a 125-115 road loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Saturday night. And while the Denver Nuggets started off the game on fire from the field while even having chances in which two tighten the lead for the Pelicans late in the game,  forward Anthony Davis was simply too much as he scored 40 points while getting to the free-throw line to make 20 of 21 free throws for the contest.

The Milwaukee Bucks have not been as consistent lately in switching wins for losses, however continue to find themselves at the top of the Central Division in the Eastern Conference.  In their last outing, the Bucks were 123 104 home winners over the Chicago Bulls on Friday night as Eric Bledsoe, Khris Middleton, and Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 25 along with 23 points each, respectively, as the Bucks rallied from a 63-45 halftime deficit in which to pick up the much-needed victory. The Bucks are in the third game of a six-game home stand while the Bulls will be playing their second of three road games after 2 days rest  since battling the Pelicans on Saturday night.

Denver Nuggets's Latest Performance :

As stated, the Nuggets had quite a few chances in which to make the game versus the Pelicans much closer;  However, they were not able to capitalize on offensive opportunities at critical points in the game. Nikola Jokic scored 25 points for Denver while Gary Harris had 24 in the losing effort. Juancho Hernangomez had 20 for the Nuggets along with 11 rebounds in what was an interesting game throughout the night.  Nonetheless, it was a game in which the Pelicans shot 34 free throws compared to only 13 for the nuggets.  The Nuggets did, however, outscored the Pelicans 58 to 52 inside the paint for the game.

After a great start to the season, the Nuggets have fallen on hard times, as one can see. They are also 0-2 in their last two road games and with three out of their next four games being away from Colorado, they will certainly need to shore things up pretty quick.  They continue to rank fourth in the league in points allowed per game with 105, however, they are allowing teams upwards of 116 points per game during their current losing streak. They will certainly need to bring their A-game versus a Milwaukee Bucks Squad that is ranked in the top 10 in every major offensive category.

Milwaukee Bucks's Latest Performance :

As stated,  the Milwaukee Bucks have switched out wins fir losses in their last few games.  Nonetheless, they have had most of their success at home where there are 4-1 against the spread  in their last four home games. In their last outing at home versus the Chicago Bulls, the Bucks outscored the Bulls 46-14 in the third quarter en route to a rally that allowed them to pick up the victory in the end.   As stated, Bledsoe led the charge with 25 points along with six assists while Khris Middleton chipped in 23 points, 10 rebounds, along with eight assist in the game. Giannis Antetokounmpo ended with 23 points and 13 rebounds in the  when.

And while the Bulls came out hot to begin the game, the Bucks lock them down in the second half in allowing visitors to shoot only 43% from the floor for the night while the home team ended the night shooting a tad over 50% for the game.  The Bucks also outrebounded the Bulls by a margin of 55 to 24 for the game.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This game will be a very interesting matchup in that the Nuggets really need to begin to rack up some more wins at this critical point in the season. As stated, they have lost four of their last five games and would love to pick up a solid victory over a Milwaukee Bucks team that has been on a tear lately. The Bucks would also like to pick up yet another win after switching wins with losses during their past few outings. This is primarily due to their defense regressing a bit in allowing teams to score an average of 120 points in their last four losses. Nonetheless, expect both teams to come out focused on getting a win in this match up as they both are in need of some confidence moving forward.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Milwaukee Bucks

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Bucks in this instance in that I feel that they are  not only great at home, but, will be challenging a Denver Nuggets team that has severely slid recently in terms of wins and losses. As stated, they have lost three of their last four games and are reeling at this point in the season.  In other words, this means that the Bucks will certainly have an opportunity to capitalize off of their inconsistencies, particularly on the defensive end.   In all, look for the home team to come out with a hard-fought victory in this match up.

Totals Selection: Pick: Over

My reason for the prediction :

The over has been to play in four of the last five games for the Denver Nuggets while also being the result in the last five games for the Milwaukee Bucks recently. With that being the case, I will certainly back the over in this matchup in that both teams  find themselves struggling at the defensive end at this time. Also, expect both teams to come out looking to push the pace on offense as each will attempt to gain an advantage on the scoreboard early and often.
