Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Sacramento Kings

The Oklahoma City Thunder will travel to Golden 1 Arena in Sacramento, California, to battle the Sacramento Kings on Monday night at 10 p.m. eastern time in NBA action.   The Thunder has continued their tear lately in winning three straight games while also winning nine of the last 10 games, overall. Their last win came at the expense of the Phoenix Suns as they picked up the 110-100 win on Saturday night on the road as Paul George scored 32 points along with Steven Adams having 26 on the night.

The Kings continue to struggle as they suffered the 132-112 road loss to the Houston Rockets on Saturday night as the defense for Sacramento allowed the Houston Rockets to average 58% from the floor while also giving up 23 three pointers on the night.  The loss was the Kings second straight along with third in four outings as they will now fly home to face an outstanding Oklahoma City team while packing up soon after the contest in which to play their next two games on the road.

Oklahoma City Thunder's Latest Performance :

The Oklahoma City Thunder continues to win without Russell Westbrook in the lineup as Paul George and Steven Adams continue to step up for a team that has really played with consistency on both sides of the court lately. This continued on Saturday night as the Oklahoma City Thunder was victorious over the Phoenix Suns on the road as the Thunder picked up their third straight win in a 110-100 road victory. And while they struggled from 3-point range for the night in going only 7 for 24 from long range, they outrebounded the Suns by a margin of 56 to 31 for the game.

It is for this reason, along with the performances of Adams and George Along with guard Dennis Schroder, who had 15 points and five assists in the win, that the Thunder were able to extend their outstanding play while atoning for their last blowout Road loss versus the Dallas Mavericks On November 10th.

And while the Thunder may possess an outstanding offensive attack that is balanced, they are only ranked 14th in the league in averaging 110 points per game. Their defense, in my opinion, has been the catalyst for their winning ways lately as they are not only allowing only 105 points per game to their opponents, but, giving up only 101 points during their current three-game winning streak. Look for the Thunder to look to continue their outstanding play versus an Sacramento Kings team that has been Jekyll and Hyde early in the season.

Sacramento Kings 's Latest Performance :

The Sacramento Kings have really been hit-or-miss lately as they are losers of five of the last seven games, overall. Nonetheless, they really have shown glimpses of greatness in wins over the Minnesota Timberwolves as well as the San Antonio Spurs, recently. The problem is that these wins came at home as the Sacramento Kings have proven that they have problems with cohesion on both ends of the court on the road in having a 4-5 record on the year. They continued this streak in their last outing versus the Houston Rockets as defensive mishaps was the major catalyst in them suffering a blowout loss on Saturday night.

As stated, the Rockets shot 57% from the floor for the night while the Kings were only able to shoot 45% from the floor. Buddy Hield led the team in scoring with 26 points on 10-17 shooting from the field along with seven rebounds for the night.  Da’Aaron Fox  put in 19 points for the Kings in the loss while both combined for five 3-pointers.

As stated, the Kings will  return home to where they have won two of their last three games, with their last being a home win over the Spurs on November 12th. In all, not only is the Kings offense better at home, but, their defense has also played that much better in allowing teams to average only 105 points in their last four games as opposed to giving up an average of 115 points in their last for road games.

How Oklahoma City Thunder & Sacramento Kings Matchup.

Oklahoma City is 9-5 ATS while the OU is 7-7

Sacramento is 9-6 ATS whiel the OU si 8-7

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This game will be interesting in that you have a Kings team that is looking to right the ship after a disastrous two games on the road. On the other hand, you have an Oklahoma City squad that looks to continue its winning ways without its superstar on the road, where they have won four of their last five games. In all, look for both teams to try to push the pace early in this game as they are at their best when doing so. Nonetheless, expect for the Thunder to utilize their outstanding pick-and-roll game in which to confuse the Kings throughout the game. The Kings have not had anyone to step up consistently on either end of the floor this year, however, look for them to come out focus in this matchup at home in which to get an all-important victory.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Oklahoma City

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Thunder in this matchup as they have been playing outstanding basketball recently and will certainly continue this trend versus a reeling Sacramento Kings team on the road on Monday night. The Oklahoma City Thunder is learning much about itself at this point in the season without Westbrook, and with Paul George and Steven Adams stepping up in this way, it will certainly serve to propel the Oklahoma City Thunder to an even higher level when their point guard returns. In all, expect the Thunder to run away with this game early as their offense will continue to click (much like it has been up until this point).

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the under in this game as I feel as though both teams will have solid nights on the offensive end, however, the under has been the play in the last four home games for the Kings while being the result in three of the last four games for the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road. With this being the case, the under will certainly be the strong play in this game in that both teams will be battling on the defensive end for a much-needed win.

Betting trends for Oklahoma City Thunder:

  • The Thunder is 8-1 ATS in last nine games

  • The Thunder is 3-1 ATS in last four road games

  • The Under is 3-1 in Thunder last four road gaes

Betting trends for Sacramento Kings :

  • The Kings are 2-4 ATS in last six games

  • The Under is 4-1 in Kings last five games
