Location : Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Phoenix Suns vs Philadelphia 76ers

The Phoenix Suns will travel to Wells Fargo Center, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to battle the 76’ers on Monday night at 7 p.m. eastern time. The Suns are coming off a 110-100 home loss versus the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday night as Paul George and Steven Adams carved up the defensive unit for the Suns throughout the game as the Suns dropped their fourth game in five outings.

On the other hand the 76’ers  picked up a huge 122-119 overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets on the road on Saturday night as Jimmy Butler scored on a 3-pointer late in the game in which to seal the victory for the Philadelphia 76ers despite allowing 60 points from Charlotte’s Kemba Walker.

Phoenix Suns's Latest Performance :

The Phoenix Suns have not been able to get things going this season as they now stand at 3-12 on the year while being ranked in the celler within the Western Conference Pacific Division. Devin Booker leads the team with 23 points per game while Deandre Ayton leads the team with 10 rebounds per game. In other words, the Suns have a nice mix of young and talented players, However, have had problems with consistency on both ends of the floor thus far in 2018, thus lending to there subpar record.

And while they were able to neutralize the Thunder offense in their last outing in allowing them to shoot only 45% from the field, the Suns were heavily outrebounded by a 57-31 margin for the game. TJ Warren had 23 points to lead the Suns in scoring while Deandre Ayton along with Booker had 21 and 16 points, respectively, in the loss. Unfortunately for Phoenix,  this game will be game 1 of a four-game road trip as they have not played well on the road this year going 0-3 ATS in their last three overall.

Philadelphia 76ers's Latest Performance :

The Philadelphia 76ers were shaping up to be a really good team even without their new edition of Jimmy Butler. However, now that Butler has officially been installed within the starting lineup, he is immediately making an impact as he was the star in their last outing in nailing a 3-pointer with time expiring in overtime in which to pull out a much-needed win for the Sixers on the road versus the Charlotte Bobcats. ”As much as I wanted the shot to go in to win the game, I also wanted it to go in because I didn’t want Kemba to give me 70,” Butler said with a laugh. ”I wanted it to stop at 60.”

And while the Sixers only went .500 during their prior four-game road trip, they now return home to where they will host four of their next five games, with the first game being against the Phoenix Suns. And while the Sixers can still be considered as middle of the road as it relates to their offense, their defense, despite giving up 113 points per game, are ranked within the top 10 within the league in shooting percentage allowed per game along with 3-point percentage allowed.  Nonetheless, they may certainly get to improve upon their defensive stats versus a Suns team that is ranked 30th in the league in points allowed with 102 points per.

How Phoenix Suns & Philadelphia 76ers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Phoenix is 6-8 ATS while the OU is 6-8

Philadelphis is 7-10 ATS while the OU is 107

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

The Phoenix Suns will certainly be looking to clean things up in this outing versus the Sixers;  However, this will not be easy as the Sixers are riding a huge wave of momentum and confidence after not only winning seven of their last 10 games, overall, but, continue to welcome the new addition in Jimmy Butler,  who has shown his ability to contribute to the team with his  buzzer beating game winner versus Charlotte in their last victory. With that being said, look for both teams to come out focused and intense on getting a win in this contest, however, look for the Sixers to acclimate Butler even more into the offense as time goes on, possibly giving the Sixers a inside and outside game with Embid down low.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Philadelphia 76ers

My reason for the pick :

I will back the Sixers in this contest is I believe that they have tremendous upside with the addition of Butler in the lineup. Of course, his  buzzer-beating win over the Charlotte Hornets in their last timeout will only increase his confidence moving forward. In all, look for the Sixers to destroy a reeling Phoenix Suns team that simply cannot win either at home or on the road. Again, look for Butler to have a solid night in this game while also sharing the rock with his teammates as well.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the under in this matchup as I happen to feel that Philadelphia played well on the defensive end this year. Also, with the Phoenix Suns offense struggling the way that they have in  their past few games, look for the score to remain low while the game will be very competitive throughout as the Sixers will pull away over the course of the game and, ultimately, getting a victory. Nonetheless, the total will remain less than its set limit for the  contest.

Betting trends for Phoenix Suns:

  • The Suns are 1-3 ATS in last four road games

  • The Over is 3-1 in Suns last four road games

Betting trends for Philadelphia 76ers:

  • The Sixers are 3-1 ATS in last four home games

  • The Over is 3-1 in Sixers last four home games
