Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Miami Heat vs Chicago Bulls

The struggling Miami Heat will travel to United Center in Chicago, Illinois, to battle the Chicago Bulls on Friday night at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time.  The Heat continued to struggle on the offensive end of the ball as they suffered their third straight loss at the hands of the Brooklyn Nets at home in their last time out by a 104 – 92 score.  The home team shot 36% from the floor for the night while shooting only 21% from 3-point range as Hassan Whiteside led the Heat with 21 points yet only shot 9 – 21 for the floor or the night. Josh Richardson also chipped in 16 points in the loss as the Heat has failed to reach the 100-point mark in their last three outings.

On the other hand, the Chicago Bulls halted a 4 game losing skid by picking up a huge victory over the Phoenix Suns by a 124 – 116 score as Chicago welcomed back Zach LaVine to the lineup as he scored 29 points in his return while Jabari Parker had 20 points on the night. The Heat has not covered the spread in the last four meetings versus the Bulls yet the under has been to play in four of the last 5 meetings about these two teams.

Miami Heat 's Latest Performance :

As stated, the Heat have not scored more than 100 points in their last three outings and enter this game on a three game losing skid. Their match up with the Bulls will be game 1 of a two-game road trip to where they will face the Toronto Raptors  soon after. In all, with Goran Dragic out with the knee injury while Hassan Whiteside also being hampered by a knee injury, the Heat has certainly had to rely on Josh Richardson even more along with role-players in which two remain competitive throughout games.  Richardson along with Rodney McGruder scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, along with Whiteside putting up 21 in order to keep the Heat in the last outing versus the Brooklyn Nets.

Nonetheless, the home team could not maintain their consistency on either end of the court late in the game as they allowed the Nets to escape with the victory. And while the defense for the Heat only  allowed the Nets to shoot 43% from the floor, the home team’s inability to get anything going consistently on the offensive end all night essentially doomed their chances of picking up the win. They may indeed get a chance to get their offense back on track versus a Chicago’s Bulls squad that has been known to allow teams to score points in bunches lately.

Chicago Bulls's Latest Performance :

TheBulls most certainly needed a win in their last matchup versus the Phoenix Suns and they were certainly focusrf on the task at hand as Lavine and Parker led the Bulls in getting their first win in only five outings. LaVine also had six assists on the night while Parker ended the night with 13 rebounds along with eight assists in the win. The struggling Bulls shot 57% for the night, as stated, while shooting 44% from 3 point range for the night, their defense on the other hand, gave up their fair share of points as the visitors were allowed to shoot 49% for the night and keeping the game close throughout.

Nonetheless, the Bulls were able to get some critical stops at the conclusion of the game while also getting some big shots from Lavine in the meantime en route to the huge victory. They will certainly look to carry this momentum into this matchup versus Miami as the Heat continues to be a solid defensive team, however, their offense has continued to struggle through out the year.

How Miami Heat & Chicago Bulls Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Miami is 6-11 ATS while the OU is  11 – 6

Chicago is 9 – 9 ATS   while the OU is 7 – 11

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will certainly be an interesting game in that you have a Miami team that is looking to erect themselves out of a losing skid with a victory while the Chicago Bulls seek to build off of their momentum in picking up a huge win over the Phoenix Suns in their last timeout. In all, look for both teams to really be focused in this matchup as they will likely attempt to push the ball throughout in which two control the pace of the game. With that being said, this will certainly be a back-and-forth game where  momentum will certainly swing from one team to the other frequently.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Chicago Bulls

My reason for the pick :

Miami has had simply too many injuries that they have had to  deal with early on in the season. With Dragic going down with injury and expecting to be back in  December along with Whiteside also being hampered by a knee injury, this essentially leaves the Heat with only one consistent scorer in Josh Richardson. With that being the case, expect the Bulls to utilize Zach Lavine much more in this contest as he will not only shine on the offensive end but will certainly afford his teammates the opportunity of contributing as well. In all, look for the Bulls to come out with a slim victory in this match up as I happened to see a low-scoring, competitive outing throughout.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

The under has been the play in five of the last seven games for the Chicago Bulls while being the result in the last three games for the Miami Heat. Combine this with the fact that both offenses will indeed struggle at times during this matchup, one has to conclude that the under is indeed the strong pick in this match up. In all, the total will not surpass its set limit for this matchup as I see this  contest as being a defensive-minded game.

Heat are 0-3-1 ATS in their last 4 Friday games.

Betting trends for Chicago Bulls:
