Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Phoenix Suns vs Milwaukee Bucks

The reeling Phoenix Suns will travel to  Fiserv forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to battle the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night at 8:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Suns have lost 3 straight games with their last being a 124 – 116 road loss versus the Chicago Bulls on Wednesday night as  the Suns had a decent shooting night by making 49% of their shots, however, allowed the Bulls to shoot 57% from the floor on the night en route to a loss.

On the other and, the Milwaukee Bucks have won 3 straight games after losing to Memphis in game 1 of a six-game home stand by beating up on the Portland Trailblazers by a 143 – 100 score in their last time out as they shot 53% from the floor while getting 33 points from Giannis Antentekuompo  in the win. The Suns have covered the spread in four of the last five games versus the Bucks in Milwaukee while the under has been the play in the last 4 games amongst these teams in Milwaukee as well.

Phoenix Suns 's Latest Performance :

The Phoenix Suns continue to lose games due to the fact that they are just the opposite of Milwaukee in that they are struggling on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball. For example, the Suns are averaging only 103 points per game while their defense is giving up 114  points per contest. Their ability to give up points on the defensive end of the court was certainly evident versus a struggling Chicago Bulls team in their last outing as they allowed the Bulls to shoot 57% from the field while Chicago also had two 20 point scorers in Zach Lavine with 29 points along with six assists in the victory while Jabari Parker went 6-10 for the night while finishing with 21 points in the much-needed victory for the Bulls.

The good thing for the Sun’s is that during their current four-game road trip, they have certainly been competitive in their first two games by losing those two matchups by a combined 13 points. They will certainly need to shore up defensive vulnerabilities while becoming more active on the offensive side of the court in which to pick up some wins and allow themselves to  stay close with Milwaukee throughout this matchup.

Milwaukee Bucks's Latest Performance :

The Bucks are playing very well at this point as they are getting solid contributions from not only their superstars but from other role players in the meantime. This type of outstanding play has allowed them to win their last 3 games with the last being a beat down at home over the solid Portland Trail Blazers as they limited the visitors to 36% shooting from the field while Damian Lillard finished with 22 points on 5-12 shooting from the floor. This came after Lillard had a 40-point burst against the Washington Wizards just nights before.

On the other hand, Antentekuompo went 13-24 the night with 33 points, 16 rebounds, along with nine assists on the night. Khris Middleton also chipped in 21 points for the Bucks in the win while Eric Bledsoe and Malcolm Brogdon score 19 points each in the win. As stated, Milwaukee  will be in game 5 of a six-game home stand and will certainly need to continue to rack up wins in which two gave even more confidence. Of course, with their offense and defense both clicking on all cylinders at this point, Milwaukee will certainly be a difficult team to beeat as they are not only scoring an average of 122 points per game, but, their defense is giving up only 108 points per outing.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

Milwaukee will certainly need to maintain their focus for this game as they will be battling a Suns team that has struggled mightily all season. They will attempt to continue to push the ball at every opportunity as this will allow them to pick up easy baskets on the offensive end while also  locating their shooters for spot-up jumpers. With that being said, the Phoenix Suns will also look to halt their losing streak in this matchup as they certainly have a mix of talent and youth on their squad; However, have not found ways in which two maintain their consistency throughout 48 minutes in which to pick up wins.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Milwaukee Bucks

My reason for the pick :

I will  back the Bucks in this matchup as they will continue their winning ways versus a struggling Phoenix team that simply cannot get themselves over the hill  late in games. In other words, Phoenix will certainly do their best to keep this game tight, however, the experience and sheer athleticism of the Milwaukee Bucks will shine once again as they will slowly begin to pull away at some point in this match up, thus giving the home team yet another victory on the season.

Totals Selection: Pick: Over

My reason for the prediction :

The Phoenix Suns are not only struggling on  offense, but, they are also allowing teams to score much too easily on the defensive end at this point. With that being the case, look for the Bucks to really pound the Suns on offense end in which to either obtain fouls, or, easy baskets. In all, expect the over to be the play in this contest the Bucks  will have a very solid night on the offensive end.

Betting trends for Phoenix Suns :

  • Suns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss.
Over is 5-1 in Suns last 6 road games.
Suns are 2-8 ATS in their last 10 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Bucks:

  • Milwaukee Bucks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing straight up record.
Bucks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
Bucks are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 Friday games.
