Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Atlanta Hawks vs Miami Heat

The struggling Atlanta Hawks will travel to American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, to battle the Miami Heat on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Hawks will seek to win its second straight game versus the Heat as they would come out on top in a contest versus the Charlotte Hornets at home in their last outing on November  25th as they picked up the 124 – 123 win. The Hawks battled back after an awful first quarter in which to outscore the Hornets 68 – 54 in the second and third quarters, respectively, as they would halt a 9 game losing streak with the victory.

On the other hand, the Miami Heat are reeling at this point in the season with their point guard Goran Dragic on the injured list as they lost their fourth game in five outings due to 125 – 115 Road defeat to the Toronto Raptors on November 25th as Dwyane Wade went 13 – 22 for the night while having 35 points in a losing effort for a Miami Heat team that is definitely struggling for answers on the offensive end.

Atlanta Hawks's Latest Performance :

The Atlanta Hawks snapped their long losing streak in exciting fashion in their last outing versus the Charlotte Hornets as Kemba Walker, star of the Charlotte Hornets, attempted to hit yet another big shot on the year for his team late in the game;  However, his shot was swatted away by John Collins as he ended the night with 23 points along with 11 rebounds for the Hawks to halt a devastatng losing streak. Trae Young and Taurean Prince added 18 and 16 points, respectively, in the victory as well  as the Hawks were able to shoot 53% from the floor for the night along with 41% from 3 point range.

Atlanta also got after it on the defensive end as well as they allowed Charlotte to shoot only 44% for the night as Kemba Walker was limited to only 7-23 shooting despite leading the team with 22 points. Former Atlanta Hawk Marvin Williams also chipped in 20 points along with 13 rebounds for the Hornets in defeat. In all, it will be interesting to see how the Hawks will approach this game now that they have a huge win under their belt after a long, deflating losing streak.

Miami Heat 's Latest Performance :

Again, with Dragic on the injured list due to a knee injury, the Miami Heat have indeed struggled not only for leadership, but for offensive productivity as well. In fact, the Heat have scored 100 points or less in four of their last five games, overall. With that being the case, a bevy of players have had to step up in replacement of lost production due to the injury of Dragic including Josh Richardson, Rodney McGruder, or, as was the case in their last outing, and old familiar face in Dwyane Wade.  He led the team in scoring with 35 points for the game along with five rebounds and six assists off the Bench as the Heat shot only 41% from the field for the night.

On the other hand, they allowed the Raptors to shoot over 52% for the game as Kawhi Leonard continued his streak of stellar play since returning to the lineup in finishing with 29 points along with 11 rebounds in what was the Raptors fifth straight victory. Miami will certainly need to get a bit more production from Richardson, Mcgruder, along with Hasaan Whiteside as Wade will certainly not be able to put the team on his back at this point in his career.

How Atlanta Hawks & Miami Heat Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Atlanta is 7 – 12 ATS while the OU is  10 – 9

Miami is 7 – 11 ATS while the OU is  11 – 7

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This game will be interesting in that Atlanta will certainly have a decent chance in which to pick up their second straight win as the Miami Heat is certainly struggling nowadays. Of course, Wade has had his time in the past where he had the ability to change the complexity of the game; However, he is no longer that type of player and will certainly not return to his old ways this season in which to lead the Heat to victory. With that being the case, Miami needs to look to get more out of Josh Richardson as well as Hassan Whiteside moving forward if they are to weather the storm from a devastating losing streak as well.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Atlanta Hawks

My reason for the pick :

Again, the Heat have struggled entirely too much in which to back, particularly on the road versus an Atlanta Hawks team that picked up their first win in what seems like forever in their last outing versus the Charlotte Hornets at home. I happen to believe that this will be a positive for the Hawks going into this match up as they will certainly be facing  a Heats squad that is reeling at this point in the season and desperately looking for win. Nonetheless, Miami continues to have concerns about their offense at this point in the season as their team has simply not been able to put points on the board, lately. With that being the case, pick the Hawks as a strong play in this match up as they will come out with yet another slim victory on Tuesday night.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

And while the Hawks may indeed pick up a win in this contest, look for them to struggle on the offensive end in this matchup as the Miami Heat has certainly done its best to play solid defense on a nightly basis, particularly due to its lack of offensive output. In all, I will back the under in this matchup as I believe that the defense from Miami will neutralize the offense for Atlanta throughout the match up. On the other hand, the Heat will continue to struggles even versus and Atlanta Hawks defense that ranks next to last in the league in points allowed per game with 118.

Betting trends for Atlanta Hawks:

  • The Hawks or 1-4 in last five outings

  • The Hawks are 4-1 in last 5 Road games

  • The under is 6 – 4 in Hawks last 10 games

Betting trends for Miami Heat :

  • The Heat are 2 – 6 ATS  in last 8 games

  • The Heat   are 0-5 ATS  in last 5 home games

  • The under is 4-0 in Heat last for
