Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

San Antonio Spurs vs Chicago Bulls

The San Antonio Spurs will continue their East Coast road swing as they will take on the Chicago Bulls on Monday night at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. The Spurs are coming off a 135 – 129 road loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in their last outing as they got 34 points from DeMar DeRozan while the Spurs shot 53% from the field including 47% from 3-point range. However, they were not able to withstand a Milwaukee Bucks balance attack led by Giannis Antetokounmpo With 34 points, eight rebounds, along with assist on the night.

On the other hand, the Chicago Bulls are losers of two straight games after suffering a 111 – 96 road loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on November 24th as the Bulls offense was dismal once again  as they shot only 40% from the field while also being outscored by the Timberwolves 62-46 in the second half en route to the loss.

San Antonio Spurs's Latest Performance :

The San Antonio Spurs are losers of three of their last four games and a critical part of their losing has been their inability to incorporate LaMarcus Aldridge into the offense properly. However, in their last outing versus the Milwaukee Bucks on the road, it was their defense also that proved to be the catalyst for yet another loss on the season as they allowed the Milwaukee Bucks to shoot 57% on the night while also nailing 15 three-pointers during the contest. As stated, Antetokounmpo was the man of the hour for Milwaukee in this matchup as he put up 35 total points, however, it was a balanced attack all around for the bucks as Khris Middleton, Malcolm Brogdon, and Eric Bledsoe each had 21, 23, and 20 points, respectively, for Milwaukee in the win as the team is certainly learning how to win consistently in this league.

San Antonio, on the other hand, has not won consistently at all lately. And while their offense shined versus the Bucks in shooting over 53%, this is not been the norm in San Antonio as of late as the team is putting up only 109 points per game on 45% shooting from the field. As stated, DeMar DeRozan leads the team with 25 points per game along with assists with six, however, their big man in Demarcus Aldridge has really struggled recently and really needs to come out of his funk in which to allow the Spurs to real off some all-important wins.

During their current losing streak, aside from a 33-point, 14 rebound, and two block effort on the road versus the Indiana Pacers to where the Spurs picked up the 111 – 100 win, Aldridge has been average ( at best) in putting up only 15 points per game in the remaining five games to which all resulted in losses.   In all, look for San Antonio to look to get back on track versus a Chicago team that has struggled as well, particularly on the offensive end.

Chicago Bulls 's Latest Performance :

The Bulls have lost six of the last seven games and are truly reeling at this point in the season. It goes without saying that Chicago can certainly use a win these days;  However, the Spurs are also in need of a huge win and with them coming to visit the Bulls for a matchup on Monday night, expect both teams to exhibit a healthy amount of focus in which to stop their current bleeding as they are truly struggling on both sides of the ball. The Chicago Bulls, on one hand, gave up 111 points to the Minnesota Timberwolves in their last outing as Karl Anthony Towns was the man of the hour as he scored 35 points on the night along with 22 rebounds and six assists. Towns was also assisted by Dario Saric and Jeff Teague as they chipped in 19 and 18 points, respectively, in the win for Minnesota.

Chicago, on the other hand struggled all night as they shot 40% from the field along with 30% from 3 point range as Zach LaVine led the team with 28 points total in the loss along with eight rebounds and eight assists. Jabari Parker also shot 11-18 for the night while chipping in 27 points in the loss as a Bull’s also committed 16 huge turnovers for the night while being outrebounded by a 58-40 margin. In all, the Bulls certainly need to become more efficient on the offensive end. With that being said, with the Spurs allowing teams to shoot over 48% for the night in 2018, this may indeed be the game that the Bulls may come out of their funk a bit in that respect.

How San Antonio Spurs & Chicago Bulls Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

San Antonio is 9 – 9 ATS while the OU is  10 – 8

Chicago is 9 – ATS while the OU is  7 – 12

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

Look for this matchup to be an important game for both teams as a San Antonio Spurs desperately needs to pick up a victory in which two go over 500 for their current  four game Road Trip. On the other hand, Chicago will come home to take on the Spurs before embarking on a four-game road trip as well. It is for this reason that the Bulls will certainly be looking to pick up  an all important win. In all, look for this to be a back-and-forth affair to where both teams will attempt to push the pace in which to kick start their dismal offenses.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  San Antonio Spurs

My reason for the pick :

The Chicago Bulls are searching for more consistency on offense these days. Zach LaVine has been a godsend for the team as he has attempted to fit the bill for what this team needs desperately at this time of the season; however, LaVine will certainly need some help as he simply cannot do it alone. With that being the case, the Spurs have two bona fide scorers in DeRozan and Aldridge that can take control of a game at any point. They simply need to get more out of Aldridge in which two gain more confidence moving forward. Look for the Spurs to continue to incorporate him even more into the office as time goes on as the Bulls have certainly given up their fair share of points to their opponents all year long. In all, the Spurs will indeed come out with a much-needed victory in this match up as Aldridge will gain more confidence along the way by having a solid night on the offensive end in this outing.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I happen to believe that the score will remain low in this matchup as you are dealing with two teams with dismal offenses along with defenses that, despite their struggles, are known to play solid defense on a  nightly basis. With that being the case, look for both teams to really attempt to establish themselves on the defensive end in this matchup as it will be competitive throughout. Also, four of the last five home games for Chicago have been affairs to where they allowed teams to score an average of only 108 points during this time.

Betting trends for San Antonio Spurs:

  • The Spurs are 2-4 ATS  in last 6 Road games

  • The over is 4-1 in Spurs last 5 games

Betting trends for Chicago Bulls :

  • The Bulls are 1-4 ATS  the last five home games

  • The under is  6 – 2 in Bulls last 8 games
