Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Toronto Raptors vs Memphis Grizzlies

The Toronto Raptors will visit FedEx forum in Memphis, Tennessee, to battle the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Grizzlies have suddenly lost two straight games after a 103 – 98 home loss to the lowly New York Knicks on November 25th as Enes Kanter had a career-high 26 rebounds and scored 21 points while Tim Hardaway Jr. finished with 22 points for the game as Kanter led a third-quarter rally that erased a 13-point Memphis lead. Mike Conley and Marc Gasol led the team in scoring, once again, as they put up 27 and 23 points, respectively, in defeat.

On the other hand, the Raptors are winners of five straight games as they picked up a home win over the Miami Heat in their last outing by a 125 – 115 score as Kawhi Leonard led the team in scoring with 29 points on the night while Pascal Siakam had 21 points along with six rebounds in the contest.

Toronto Raptors's Latest Performance :

The Toronto Raptors are certainly on a high at this point in the season. Their star in Kawhi Leonard has return to the lineup and the team has  suddenly reeled off 5 straight wins with their last being a 10-point home win over the Miami Heat on November 25th. In this matchup, Leonard led the team with 29 points along with 10 rebounds while Siakam also had a productive night with 21 points as the Raptors shot a tad over 52% from the field for the night.

And while the Heat went 15 – 36 from three-point range for the game, they shot only 41% from the field en route to yet another loss on the season. Toronto now seeks to battle a Grizzlies team that will certainly be looking to get a win after playing lackluster basketball in their last two outings. As a whole, Toronto has done well for themselves on both sides of the court this year has their offense is ranked 4th in the league in scoring per game with 117 points  per game while their defense is allowing only 107 points per game, good for sixth in the league.

Memphis Grizzlies 's Latest Performance :

After being winners of five straight games themselves, the Memphis Grizzlies  have found themselves in a position to where they have lost two straight, with their last lost coming versus a New York Knicks squad that has struggled all season long. Mike Conley scored 23 points in the loss as he also racked up 11 assists while Marc Gasol ended the game with 27 points, eight rebounds, along with four assists to lead the Grizzlies as the team shot 44% from the night along with 37% from 3 point range.

On the other hand, The New York Knicks only shot 37% from the field for the night along with 36% from 3 point range;  However, with Kanter matching the physical style of play by the Memphis Grizzlies, this allowed the road team to come up with a huge victory in the end. Also, the Grizzlies struggled from the free throw line all night in making 11-19 for the contest.  Finally, despite having 23 points on the night, Mike Conley struggled from the floor in going only 8 – 24 for the game.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will certainly be an exciting matchup versus two teams that will be looking to either extend their current winning play, or, to  erect themselves out of a current losing skid. Toronto will play two of their next three games on the road while Memphis will pack up for a short, 2 game road trip after their match up on Tuesday night. With that being the case, look for Memphis to come out strong before embarking on their road trip while the Raptors will look to continue their stellar play just before returning home to face the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors, at home on November 29th.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Toronto Raptors

My reason for the pick :

I will have to back the Raptors in this matchup simply due to the way that they have played in recent outings. And while the Memphis Grizzlies remain a tough team, altogether, and are certainly effective at home in 2018, look for the Raptors to keep this game tight  throughout while utilizing this opportunity in which to pull out a slim victory in the end. As stated, Toronto is playing very well at this point in not only getting contributions from their stars, but from role players as well. In all, look for this to be a very competitive matchup to where the Raptors will come up with critical baskets late in the game in which to pull out a much-needed  win.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I happen to believe the under will indeed be the strong play in this matchup as the Memphis Grizzlies will certainly come out early and establish themselves on the defensive end versus the Raptors on Tuesday night. With that being said, expect the Raptors to have problems of their own on the offensive end early on as they will not have the opportunity of making much headway versus a  physical defense in the Grizzlies. On the other hand, look for Toronto’s defense to also show and prove in this matchup as well as they will face a struggling offense in the Grizzlies.  In all, for both defenses to have a solid night as the total will certainly stay well below its set limit for this contest.

Betting trends for Toronto Raptors:

  • The Raptors are 3-4 ATS  in last 7 games

Betting trends for Memphis Grizzlies :

  • The Grizzlies are 5-1 ATS  in last 6 games

  • The Grizzlies are 4-1 ATS  in last 5 home games
