Boston Celtics vs Minnesota Timberwolves
The mighty Boston Celtics take a road trip to Minnesota to play the Timberwolves at the Target Center in a Saturday night match-up. It’s East meets West as these two teams clash for the first time this season. The Celtics are sitting sixth in the East while the T-Wolves are sitting in the eleventh spot in the West. The season is still young and both teams have the ability to fight through adversity and make the playoffs. With the addition of Kyrie Erving, the Celtics upgraded their scoring while Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Townes is throwing down almost 21 points per game.
Boston Celtics's Latest Performance :
The Timberwolves have gone 6-4 in their last ten and are winners of their last three. After trading Jimmy Butler, the team has gone 6-2 with the addition of Robert Covington and Dario Saric who have stepped up in Butler’s absence and are making their presence known. The West is stacked as usual and the T-Wolves must keep improving if they want to compete. Sitting in the middle of the pack isn’t going to get it done in that division.
Robert Covington is averaging 3.0 steals per game and has two or more steals in his last seven games with the T-Wolves. His 45 steals on the season lead the league.
Minnesota Timberwolves's Latest Performance :
The Celtics are owners for the NBA’s second-best defense, but the starting five are the worst in the league when spending at least 75 minutes on the floor together. Coach Brad Stevens has scratched his head through their 11-10 start wondering why the Kyrie Erving-lead team hasn’t rallied around their superstar. With a roster full of talent, things should come together eventually once the younger players on the team realize they need to meet the standards of the veterans on the team. The offense has to pick it up and raise their game to the same level of the defense. They do that, and Boston will be dangerous come playoff time.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
The Boston Celtics and Minnesota Timberwolves may have similar records, but Boston is definitely the better team. At least they are supposed to be. Minnesota has racked up some impressive wins and Townes has proven to be a force under the basket. The 7’0 center from Kentucky has averaged 23 points per game in his last ten and is only playing better and better with the exception of a poor performance against the San Antonio Spurs. If the identity-less Celtics don’t start to rally soon, they could fall victim to a surging foe in the West.
