Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Denver Nuggets vs Toronto Raptors

The Denver Nuggets will travel to Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Monday night for a showdown with the Toronto Raptors at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Both teams  enter this game on extended winning streaks as the Denver Nuggets Picked up their 4th straight win as they were victorious over the Portland Trail Blazers on the road in their last outing in picking up the 113 – 112 win as Gary Harris along with Paul Millsap contributed 27 and 22 points in a game where the Nuggets had to fight off a furious rally by the home team late in the game in which to pull out a victory.

The Toronto Raptors won their sixth straight game as they were 106 – 95 road winners over the Cleveland Cavaliers in the last outing as Kawhi Leonard scored 34 points to lead Toronto in a game where Kyle Lowry  did not suit up. The Nuggets are 6-0 in the last six meetings versus the Raptors in Toronto while the over has been the play in 10 of the last 12 meetings, overall.

Denver Nuggets's Latest Performance :

The Denver Nuggets have allowed opponents to score over a hundred points in only one of their last four games. Interestingly enough, this happened to be the case in their last outing versus the Portland Trail Blazers as the Blazers went on a fierce rally late in the game in which to dissolve a 17-point lead for Denver while almost pulling out the win. Nonetheless, the Nuggets were very resilient in their approach while also getting a huge 3-pointer from Harris late in the game in which to  survive. As stated, Harris ended the game with 27 points for the game while Paul Millsap also chipped in 22 points along with 10 rebounds in the win for Denver. And while the defense allowed the Trailblazers to shoot a tad over 52%, overall, for the game, the Portland Trail Blazers only connected on 6 of 22 attempts from 3-point range as Damian Lillard went 3-8 for the night from long range while going 6-16 from the floor in ending with only 15 points in the loss.

In all, the Nuggets have been a great defensive team all year long and will seek to somehow neutralize this high-scoring lineup for the Raptors that have shown that they have the ability to not only put up points, but, are well equipped in which to play effective team defense on a nightly basis as they are ranked 10th in the league in points allowed.

Toronto Raptors's Latest Performance :

Kawhi Leonard has played masterfully for the Toronto Raptors since his return to the lineup as he has not only put up a double-double in three of his last five contests, but, has scored at least 30 points in two straight games has he went 11-21 from the field versus Cleveland in finishing with 34 points along with 9 rebounds for Toronto in a huge win on the road.  Fred Van Vleet along with Danny Green each had 15 points each for Toronto in the win as well as the Raptors shot 48% from the field while holding the Cavaliers to only 38% shooting for the night with only five of 22 3-pointers. Tristan Thompson led the Cavaliers in scoring with 18 points along with 19 boards.

In all, the Raptors will certainly be looking to push the pace in this matchup as they are  averaging a bit over 120 points per game in their last six outings. Of course, they must be aware of a Denver Nuggets defensive unit that is second best in the league in points allowed with only 102 points per outing on 44% shooting, overall.

How Denver Nuggets & Toronto Raptors Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Toronto is 12 – 12 ATS while the OU is 16 – 8

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

Look for this game to be an interesting matchup as the Denver Nuggets will go into Toronto with much confidence and momentum. On the other hand, Toronto will also come into this matchup with their fair share of confidence as both teams will be looking to exert their brand of basketball throughout the game in which to pick up a much-needed victory. Look for the home team to push the pace a bit while allowing Kawhi Leonard to work over the opposition for the Nuggets in this matchup; However, as stated, the Nuggets have one of the best team defenses in the league and will certainly  attempt to make this game close throughout while giving themselves the opportunity to pull out a slim victory in the end.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Toronto Raptors

My reason for the pick :

Denver certainly has the better defense in this instance, however, the Raptors have the better all-around team with the much more consistent offense in 2018. It is for this reason that I will back the home team in this matchup, who may very well be without Kyle Lowry, versus a solid Denver Nuggets squad as I happen to believe that Denver will have issues scoring versus a Toronto defense that only allows 108 points per game on 44% shootings. Look for Toronto to push the pace in this matchup in which to catch the Denver defense on its heels early and often. Of course, with Leonard playing the way he is at this point in the season, also expect him to show and prove in this matchup as well.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the under in this match up in that you will have two solid defenses going up against each other. And while both teams will certainly score in this matchup, when needed, look for the total to stay well below its set limit in that I expect the defenses to take center stage in this matchup as the stakes will certainly be high for both teams.
