Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks

The Detroit Pistons will travel to Fiserv Forum  in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to battle the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Detroit Pistons recently halted a 5 game winning streak by losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder at home by a 110 – 83 score as the offense went totally cold from the field while allowing Oklahoma City to shoot over 50% for the night as Steven Adams and Russell Westbrook scored 21 and 18 points, respectively, in the win.

The Milwaukee Bucks have lost three of their last five games, overall, as they picked up a loss versus the lowly New York Knicks in their last outing by a 136 – 134 score as the Knicks went on a 25-11 run late in the fourth quarter in which to force overtime. In the extra period, Emmanuel Mudiay proved his worth to the team as he certainly had some big baskets down the stretch as the Knicks were able to pull out a slim victory over a solid Milwaukee Bucks team at home. The under has been the play in three of the last four meetings, overall, versus these two teams. The Pistons have covered the spread in 3 of the last 5 meetings versus the Milwaukee Bucks at Fiserv.

Detroit Pistons's Latest Performance :

Detroit came into their last match up with Oklahoma City on a high in winning five straight games. When it was all said and done, the Pistons offense was non-existent versus a Thunder team that allowed only 33% shooting for the Pistons on the night while the home team only connected on six of 32 attempts from 3-point range. Blake Griffin led the team with 20 points for the game while Andre Drummond contributed 13 points along with six boards in the loss.

On the other hand, Steven Adams led Oklahoma City in scoring with 21 points along with six rebounds while Russell Westbrook had 18 points, six rebounds, along with six assist as the Thunder shot over 50% for the game. And while the Pistons had allowed their opponents to score around 110 points per game during their prior winning streak, one can certainly look at the offense as not carrying its weight in such a blowout loss. Nonetheless, Detroit will look to get back on track versus a Milwaukee team that has certainly had time to think about their last loss versus the New York Knicks and will be looking for a much needed win.

Milwaukee Bucks's Latest Performance :

Lately, the Milwaukee Bucks may have fallen into a trap to where they continuously rely on their ability to score while not paying much attention to the details on the defensive end in which to win consistently in the league. In their last outing versus the Knicks, the Bucks not only allowed the Knicks to shoot over 50% from the floor on the night, but, the home team also hit 20 three-pointers as Emmanuel Mudiay led New York with 28 points for the night while also going 4-5 from long range. Kevin Knox and Tim Hardaway Jr also chipped in 26 and 21 points, respectively, for the Knicks in the victory.

On the other hand, the Bucks also shot well from the field at 49% while also hitting 18 three pointers on the night; However, due to their inability to remain consistent on the offensive end late, coupled with some defensive mishaps, they ultimately dropped their second game in three outings. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the Bucks in scoring with 33 points, 19 boards, along with 7 assist in the matchup while Eric Bledsoe chipped in 27 points while going 3-6 from 3-point range. In all, The Bucks have had four days rest in which to stew on the loss and will certainly be looking to get back on the court versus a Pistons team that will also be looking to atone from their last loss.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be a physical matchup versus the Detroit Pistons and the Milwaukee Bucks as both teams will be looking to get back on track after very embarrassing losses. As stated, both these teams have had success in 2018 and, despite a few hiccups, remains to be  two of the more dangerous teams within the Eastern Conference. With that being the case, look for them to come out with focus in this matchup as establishing themselves on the defensive end will certainly be imperative.  Also, look for both teams to also attempt to get their offenses going, albeit, versus two solid defenses.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Milwaukee Bucks

My reason for the pick :

I happen to feel as though the Detroit Pistons were severely exposed in the last blowout loss versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. In all, OKC used it’s fast-paced game in which to catch Detroit on their heels more often than not in the blowout win. With that being the case, look for the potent Milwaukee Bucks to follow the same type of philosophy  in a game where they will pull away from the home team over time. As stated, the Bucks have not played well lately in losing three of their last five, overall, and will pull out all the stops in which to get a victory over a Detroit tean that often looks dismal on the offensive end.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

Th e under has been the result in three of the last five games for the Milwaukee Bucks but also the play in the last three games, overall, for the Detroit Pistons. Combine this with the fact that both teams have defenses that rank within the top 20 in the league, look for this to be a low-scoring yet very competitive match up amongst teams that are looking to get back on the winning track after awful losses.

Betting trends for Milwaukee Bucks:
