The San Antonio Spurs will travel to Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, to battle the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday night at 10:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The los Angeles Lakers coming to this matchup winners of three straight games with their last being a 120 – 96 home win over the Phoenix Suns. In this game, the Lakers allowed the Suns to shoot a tad under 40% from the floor on the night while they shot a tad over 50% with Kyle Kuzma along with LeBron James leading the charge with 23 and 22 points, respectively, for Los Angeles in the win. The over has been the play in six of the last seven meetings amongst these two teams in Los Angeles while also being the result in 10 of the last 13 meetings, overall.

San Antonio Spurs's Latest Performance :

San Antonio halted a two-game losing streak by picking up a 131 – 118 home win over the Portland Trail Blazers in their last outing as San Antonio overcame a 37 point night from Damian Lillard as DeMar DeRozan along with LaMarcus Aldridge had 36 and 29 points, respectively, in the much-needed win for San Antonio.  In this matchup, the Spurs shot an unbelievable 60% from the floor on the night while shooting  73% from three-point range as Rudy Gay shot 4-4 while Patty Mills also went 3-5 from long range in the win.

As stated, San Antonio has been up and down all season and will certainly like to obtain some type of consistency moving forward. They have had success versus the Lakers this year as they are 2-0 on the season while picking up the win both at Staples Center as well as in San Antonio.

Los Angeles Lakers's Latest Performance :

A huge catalyst for the three-game winning streak for the Los Angeles Lakers have been their ability to play stellar on the defensive end of the floor as they are allowing teams to average 99 points per game in their last three outings, overall. Of course, their 10th ranked offense, which is currently averaging 112 points per game, increase their per game average in their last match of versus the Phoenix Suns as they put up 120 points on the night as Kyle Kuzma put up 23 points along with eight rebounds while James finished with 22 points, six rebounds, along with eight assists in the win for Los Angeles.

They allowed the Phoenix Suns to shoot only 39% from the field as Richaun Holmes led the Suns with 15 points off the Bench while Trevor Ariza and Josh Jackson had 13 points each for the Suns with a combined 14 rebounds.Devin Booker’s troubles continued on this night as he went 3-8 from the field while ending with six points on the night. In all, it has been a total team effort for the Lakers during their current winning streak as they continue to mesh more as a team with every outing that passes. They will look to continue this streak versus a San Antonio Spurs team that continues to try to find itself on the offensive end while the defense has struggled at times in 2018 as well

How San Antonio Spurs & Los Angeles Lakers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

San Antonio is 11 – 12 ATS while the OU is  14 – 8

Los  Angeles is 10 – 13 ATS while the OU is 7 – 15

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This game will certainly be an interesting one in that San Antonio will look to end a short, two-game road trip on no days rest in which to face a Los Angeles team that will have had three days rest to prepare for this matchup on Wednesday. Nonetheless, the Spurs will certainly be looking to pick up a win in this matchup as they have struggled mightily all season in which to gain some type of momentum. On the other hand, Los Angeles will also be looking for a win in which to extend their stellar play on both ends of the floor recently.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Los Angeles Lakers

My reason for the pick :

While the Spurs have had much success versus Los Angeles this year, I expect the Lakers to get the better of them in this matchup. On one hand, the Lakers are winners of five of their last six home games while the Spurs have dropped five of their last seven road games, overall, entering this matchup. In all, look for the Lakers to play their pace of game while coming up with some critical baskets late in the contest in which to pull out a slim victory over a Spurs team that continues to search for their true identity as a team.

Totals Selection: Pick: Over

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the over in this contest in that   the over has been the call in the majority of the Spurs games, recently. This is mainly due to the fact that they have really been stinking it up on the defensive end lately in allowing teams to score an average of 125 points in the last three outings, alone. With that being  the the case, with the way in which the Lakers have been playing recently on both sides of the floor, expect the home team to really put up some points on a Spurs team that continues to struggle on the season.  Nonetheless, expect the visitors to also keep this game close by being efficient on the offensive end as well.

Over is 4-0 in Spurs last 4 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
Over is 5-0 in Spurs last 5 games playing on 0 days rest.

Betting trends for Los Angeles Lakers:

Under is 5-0 in Lakers last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400.
