Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

New York Knicks vs Cleveland Cavaliers

The New York Knicks will travel to Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, to battle the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Knicks are coming into this matchup losers of four straight games as they fell to the Charlotte Hornets at home by a 119 – 107 score as New York could find no answers to Kemba Walker and Jeremy Lamb, who scored 25 and 19 points, respectively, for the road team as they also had five players in double figures on the night.

On the other hand, the Cleveland Cavaliers are now losers of three of their last five games as they suffered a loss in their last matchup on the road versus the Milwaukee Bucks by a 108 – 92 score as Cleveland shot less than 38% from the floor for the night while Larry Nance Jr along with Collin Sexton led the team with 16 and 15 points, with Sexton going 5-18 from the floor of the night. The under has been the play in six of the last seven meetings in Cleveland amongst these teams while the Knicks have fared well against the spread lately versus the Cavaliers as they have a record of 6 – 2.

New York Knicks's Latest Performance :

The Cleveland Cavaliers are struggling at this point in the season as well as they fell to a solid Milwaukee team in their last time out on the road as they struggled from the floor in shooting 37% for the night while Collin Sexton, as stated, had 15 points In the matchup while Larry Nance Jr finished the game with 16 points along with seven rebounds. Furthermore, Cleveland was also outrebounded in this game by a wide  58 – 49 margin for the contest.

The Cavaliers play decent defense versus the Milwaukee Bucks as they only allowed only 43% on the night yet the Bucks were able to convert on 15 of 36 3-point attempts as Eric Bledsoe continued his stellar play with by going 4-5 from long-range while ending with 20 points, 12 rebounds, along with five assists while Malcolm Brogdon and Chris Middleton chipped in 18 and 16 points, respectively, for Milwaukee en route to the victory. Giannis Antetokounmpo did not suit up for Milwaukee due to injury, yet the Bucks continued to play solid basketball in his absence.

The  Cavaliers, on the other hand will return home in which to continue a three-game homestand beginning with the New York Knicks on Wednesday night as they will look to get their offense back on track versus a Cleveland team that ranks 27th in the league in points allowed per game along with opponent field-goal percentage.

Cleveland Cavaliers 's Latest Performance :

The Knicks shot well in their last outing versus the Charlotte Hornets as they went 47% from the field along with hitting 50% of their 3-point shots led by Kevin Knox who went 4-8 from long-range while ending with 26 points along with 15 rebounds while Tim Hardaway Jr went 3  for 5 from long range while ending with 21 points and five assists along with five costly turnovers as the Knicks turned the ball over 17 times for the game, yet, had 28 assists compared to only 19 for Charlotte.

Defensively, New York allowed Charlotte to shoot 48% from the field along with hit 12 three pointers on the night as Kemba Walker hit four 3-pointers en route to leading the team with 25 points along with six rebounds and six assists while Jeremy Lamb finished with 19 points and five rebounds in the much-needed win. After a home stand to where the Knicks had four of their last five games at Madison Square Garden while compiling a 1-3 record, they now take to the road to where four of their next five games will be held.  With the Knicks losing their last three road games, overall, it will be interesting to see how this road trip shakes up due to them facing Charlotte, once again, along with a tough Indiana Pacers team in addition to the Philadelphia 76ers  at Wells Fargo Center.

How New York Knicks & Cleveland Cavaliers Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

New York is 13 – 14 – 1 ATS while the OU is 16 – 12

Cleveland is 13 – 14 ATS while the OU is  12-15

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be an interesting match-up in that  both teams will be looking to get back on the winning track with a much-needed win. Cleveland, as stated, will be playing their next three games at home and seeks to pick up some wins in which two somehow right the ship after a disastrous season. New York has also had a disastrous season as well yet seeks to obtain some momentum, beginning with game one of their three-game road trip versus Cleveland. In all, expect this to be an exciting match-up amongst two teams that will be desperate to play better on both ends of the floor in which to obtain a win.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   New York Knicks

My reason for the pick :

While both teams will be chomping at the bit in which to get a win in this contest, it will be hard to deny the fact that both teams have simply been inconsistent on the year thus far. With that being the case, I will back the team which has been most consistent recently, which has been the New York Knicks, to win this contest. Their offense continues to be up and down, however, the Knicks have much more of a core of talented players that are able to put the ball in the hoop. Cleveland on the other hand, continues to mesh with each other in which two improve upon their offensive prowess as the season progresses. Nonetheless, look for the Knicks to win their first road game in four attempts versus the Cavaliers on Wednesday.

Totals Selection: Pick: Over

My reason for the prediction :

The over has been the play in three of the last five road games for the Knicks while being the result in four of the last six home games for the Cavaliers. With both teams ranking in the lower tier of teams within the NBA as it relates to points allowed and field goal percentage, overall, expect this to be a high-scoring, back-and-forth game throughout as the total will indeed be surpassed, albeit, in favor of the road team in this instance.
