Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Los Angeles Lakers vs Brooklyn Nets
The Los Angeles Lakers will travel to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, to battle the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time as the Nets suddenly find themselves on a winning streak after winning their 5th straight game, overall, at home over the Atlanta Falcons by a 144 -127 score as De’Angelo Russell scored 32 points while Rondae Hollis-Jefferson had 18 as the Nets went up by 21 points while preserving this lead due to shooting 60% from the field on the night.
The Lakers have lost two of their last three games as they come into this matchup losers on the road vs the lowly Washington Wizards as a dismal shooting first half saw the Lakers go down by 20 points at the break. And despite shooting 48% from the floor on the night, the Lakers allowed the Wizards to shoot 50% from the floor while also permitting them to connect on 13 3-pointers on the night as John Wall exploded for 41 points along with 14 assists in the much-needed victory.
Los Angeles Lakers's Latest Performance :
As stated, Los Angeles has certainly not played well during their current road trip as they are allowing teams to score an average of 115 points per outing. On the other hand, the Lakers have also averaged at/or around 115 points per game during this time as well. Nonetheless, their defense will certainly have to play much better than what they played versus the Washington Wizards in their last outing as John Wall exploded for 41 points while Bradley Beal also chipped in 25 points in the night as the Wizards shot over 15% from the field.
And while the Lakers had a decent shooting night as well at 48%, Kyle kuzma’s 20 points along with 25 points from Kendarius Caldwell-Pope was simply not enough, particularly with LeBron James struggling on the night in ending with only 13 points. Nonetheless, the Lakers will look to end their four-game road trip on a positive note as they will look to go par for the course with a win over the suddenly resurgent Brooklyn Nets team on Tuesday night. Unfortunately for the Lakers, Brandon Ingram will miss this game due to injury yet is expected to be back in the lineup versus the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.
Brooklyn Nets's Latest Performance :
Don’t look now, but the Brooklyn Nets have won five straight games after an outing versus the Atlanta Hawks at home to where they put up a total of 144 points while shooting a whopping 56% from the field, as stated, as Russell led the team with 32 points on the night while Jefferson and Joe Harris also chipped in 18 and 16 points in the winning effort as the Nets went over the 120 point mark for their third straight game.
On the other hand, just as their offense has been effective, the defense for the Brooklyn Nets continues to struggle as they are allowing teams teams to score 121 points during their winning streak. In other words, while the offensive certainly revved up their play during their current winning streak, the Nets are continuing to suffer on the defensive end. Nonetheless, with Russell and Company continuing to play well on a nightly basis, I am sure that many of the Brooklyn fans will ignore the fact that the Nets continue to remain a terrible defensive team in 2018.
In all, the Brooklyn Nets may indeed find success versus the Los Angeles Lakers in this matchup on Tuesday night as the road team has allowed opponents to score at least 125 points in two of their last three outings, total, as the they are now losers of two of their last 3 games on a current four-game road trip. In all, the Nets are winners of their last three home games, after going winless in four straight games at Barclays Center prior, and will certainly be looking to extend their outstanding play vs an LA Lakers team that remains as a very solid team despite their current skid.

In-Depth Analysis of each team:
This will certainly be an interesting game in that the Lakers will look to right their ship after an awful road trip versus a Brooklyn Nets team that continues to shine on the offensive end while the team continues to string together victories, in the meantime. In all, look for the Lakers to come out and push the pace early in this matchup as they understand that while the Brooklyn Nets are dangerous team at this moment, their defense can certainly be a liability. It is for this reason that they will look to speed up the pace of this game in which to gain easy buckets in transition. Of course, the home team will follow the same type of philosophy on the offensive end of the floor in what will certainly be an entertaining game throughout.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Brooklyn Nets
My reason for the pick :
I will pick the Nets in this matchup, despite them possibly being without guard Allen Crabbe for the matchup, who is on the injured list due to a knee injury. The fact of the matter is that Russell is averaging 25 points per outing at home in his last five home games, overall, and will certainly serve to lead his team to another huge victory after a confidence-building outing versus the Atlanta Hawks in their last matchup. With that being the case, the Nets will indeed be the strong play this matchup as the Lakers will certainly continue to struggle, potentially with Brandon Ingram out of the lineup.
Totals Selection: Pick: Over
My reason for the prediction :
I expect the over to be the play in this contest as the Nets are on a high on the offensive end of the floor at this point in the season. Also, combine this with the fact that the Lakers will also be looking to put some points on the board after a dismal outing versus the Washington Wizards, expect the over to be the strong and logical play in this matchup in what will certainly be a fast paced, up and down contest, throughout.
