Detroit Pistons vs Milwaukee Bucks
The Detroit Pistons will travel to Fiserv Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to battle the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night at 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Pistons are struggling at this point in the season and are entering this game losers of four of the last five games, overall, as they suffered a loss to the Orlando Magic on the road in their last outing as Evan Fournier hit a buzzer-beating jump shot as time expired in a game to which neither team led by more than six points throughout the entire contest.
On the other hand, the Milwaukee Bucks enter this game winners of three straight as they were able to take out the Brooklyn Nets at home in their last matchup as Giannis Antetokounmpo picked up yet another Double-Double on the season as the Bucks outscored the Nets 71 – 52 in the first half en route to the blowout victory. The Pistons are 4-1-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings versus the Bucks while the under has been the play in four of the last six meetings at Fiserv Arena amongst these two teams.
Detroit Pistons's Latest Performance :
Detroit is allowing teams to score 116 points, on average, in their last two games, overall. Of course, both of those games turned out to be losses for a Detroit team that continues to slide within the Central division of the Eastern Conference while also losing seven of their last 10 games, total, as well. In their last outing versus the Orlando Magic, Detroit only shot 42% from the floor on the night while allowing Orlando was allowed to connect on 47% of their shots as Evan Fournier, which hit the game-winner at the buzzer, finished with 13 points as he went 6-10 from the floor while DJ Augustin continued his red-hot shooting as he finished with 26 points while also having 9 assists. Most importantly for the Magic, Aaron Gordon along with Nikola Vucevic chipped in 22 points apiece as they went a combined 18-30 from the floor.
Luke Kennard came off the bench to score 16 points for Detroit in this matchup while Blake Griffin along with Andre Drummond chipped in 15 and 14 points, for a Detroit team that could not convert on 17 offensive rebounds on the night while also forcing 13 turnovers. ”Games don’t come down to just one play,” Detroit coach Dwane Casey said. ”There were way too many possessions before that when we did things that get you beat. We just have to learn to do the simple things.”With that being said, look for Detroit to attempt to right the ship in this contest versus the Milwaukee Bucks on the road, where they have been atrocious in losing five of their last six.
Milwaukee Bucks's Latest Performance :
The Milwaukee Bucks have certainly rebounded from a shaky patch of play recently in which to win eight of their last 10 games along with three straight after they picked up a win at home versus the Brooklyn Nets as Antetokounmpo led the team in scoring, once again, as he picked up a triple double with 31 points, 10 rebounds along with 10 assists as the Bucks shot 49% from the floor along with connecting on a whopping 21 three-pointers on the night. Khris Middleton and Malcolm Brogdon also chipped in 29 and 21 points as they were able to capitalize off 14 turnovers for Brooklyn throughout the contest as well.
Finally, the Bucks came one point shy of recording their highest point total for a half this season as they will certainly look to continue their offensive momentum versus a Detroit team that has held their opponents under the 100-point mark in three of the last five games, overall; However, are allowing teams to shoot a tad under 47% from the floor on a nightly basis in 2018. Nonetheless, in their last matchup amongst each other, both teams certainly turned it on on the defensive end as Milwaukee was only able to obtain a three-point victory in what was a low-scoring and competitive game, throughout.
How Detroit Pistons & Milwaukee Bucks Matchup.
Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:
Detroit is 16-17-1 ATS while the OU is 16-18
Milwaukee is 9-14-2 ATS while the OU is 18-17
In-Depth Analysis of each team:
Look for this to be an interesting matchup amongst these two teams as both will either be looking for a win in which to end a disastrous streak of play, or, extend a current outstanding winning streak, altogether. Of course, Detroit certainly needs a win at this point in the season as they are fading fast not only in relevancy, overall, but as it relates to division standings as well. Milwaukee will simply be looking push the pace in which to keep Detroit on his heels continuously in this contest.
Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Milwaukee Bucks
My reason for the pick :
I will back the Bucks in this matchup as I happen to believe that Detroit simply does not have what it takes at this point in the season it which to remain competitive. Of course, they have been getting solid contributions from Drummond as well as Griffin throughout the season; However, Reggie Jackson has played horribly while the defense for Detroit continues to become more giving as the season progresses. In all, expect the Bucks to take full advantage of this as they will beat the brakes off of Detroit on Tuesday night in what will be not a very competitive matchup, at all.
Totals Selection: Pick: Over
My reason for the prediction :
The over has been the play in three of the last four road games for the Detroit Pistons as they have given up an average of 118 points during each of those defeats. On the other hand, The over has been the call in two of the last three home games for the Milwaukee Bucks to where they are averaging a tad over 122 points per outing during this time. With that being said, look for Milwaukee to push the pace constantly in this matchup in which to put points on the board versus a Detroit team that is simply beginning to look as if they may indeed be simply an average team in the Eastern Conference.
