Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

New York Knicks vs Denver Nuggets

The New York Knicks will continue their six-game road trip as they will visit the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado, to take on the Denver Nuggets on Tuesday night at 9 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Knicks are losers of their first two road games of their set as they were blown out in each outing, with their last being versus the Utah Jazz as the Knicks were only able to muster 17 points in both the first and second quarters while the Nuggets ended the first half with 71 points, total, en route to the easy victory.

On the other hand, the Denver Nuggets have won two straight games after dropping two in a row as they picked up a victory on the road versus the Phoenix Suns in their last outing as they were able to withstand a late rally by the Suns while also getting a huge contribution from Jamal Murray, who pumped in 46 points on the night for a Denver team that shot well over 50% from the floor as well as from three-point range for the game. The Knicks, nonetheless, are 0-4 against the spread in the last 4 meetings at Pepsi Center while also being 1-6 against the spread in the last seven meetings  versus the Denver Nuggets, overall.

New York Knicks's Latest Performance :

The New York Knicks are now losers of seven straight games as their last defeat came on the road versus the Utah Jazz, which not only ensured that they are currently winless on their current road trip at 0-2, but, the loss also marked the third straight time that the Knicks failed to reach the 100-point smart for a game as Hardaway Jr led the team with 18 points, as stated, while Emmanuel Mudiay finished with just 13 points on the night. Kevin Knox has gone cold for the Knicks as he ended with 12 points on the night while going 4 – 12 from the floor. ”They came out with force and we came out dead,” Knicks coach David Fizdale said. ”We had no legs, no life – nothing. We couldn’t make shots. We couldn’t get stops. It was just a total avalanche.”

Enes Kanter, on the other hand, has been a no-show lately and may indeed be a bit disgruntled about playing time recently as he played 17 minutes in their contest versus the Jazz while going 0-6 from the floor while having only four rebounds and three assists. In their prior outing, Kanter played just 14 minutes while finishing with eight points along with five rebounds. In all, the Knicks are seemingly in yet another free fall and it will be interesting to see how they approach the turbulence, both on and off the floor, in this matchup versus a Denver team that continues to gain confidence on both ends of the floor  as the season progresses.

Denver Nuggets's Latest Performance :

The Nuggets went over the 120 point mark for the first time in  their last four outings as they were able to slide past the Phoenix Suns after getting a monster performance from Jamal Murray along with 23 points, nine rebounds, along with eight assists from Nikola Jokic in the hard-fought victory on the road. DeAndre Ayton  scored 33 points along with pulling down 14 rebounds for the Suns in this contest as he made 12 of 13 shots in the second quarter alone for 20 points. As a result, Ayton  became the the first rookie in Suns franchise history to score 24 points in a quarter while also being the 6th player in Suns franchise history to reach this benchmark.”I don’t think I started off playing well,” Ayton said. ”Coach took me out and I got my second wind and went out and forgot about the scoreboard and just played hard.”

And while the Suns certainly had much to be positive about, particularly on the offensive end, their defense allowed Denver to shoot well over 58% from the floor while the visitors also connected on 18 3-pointers on the  night, as stated. Murray began the game hitting his first three 3-pointers while ending the first quarter with 13 points in addition to posting 15 points in the decisive fourth quarter en route to the victory. Nonetheless, the Nuggets will look to ride this momentum into this matchup versus the New York Knicks at home, where they are winners of their last five overall. Denver may indeed have success on the offensive end, yet again, versus the New York Knicks as they were able to post 130 points in a win earlier this year.

How New York Knicks & Denver Nuggets Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

New York is 15 – 21 – 1 ATS while the OU is 21 – 16

Denver is 19 – 15 ATS while the OU is  13 – 20

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be an interesting matchup in that the Knicks will be looking to get back on track versus a Denver team that has been dominant at home all season, particularly on the defensive end, as they have allowed opponents to score 100 points or more in only one of their five outings. With that being said, look for the Knicks to come out and push the pace, once again, in this matchup in which to catch the Nuggets on their heels. On the other hand, the Nuggets will certainly look to have a carryover effect, from an offensive standpoint, as they will certainly look to put points on a Knicks defense that is allowing teams to score an average of 116 points per game on 48% shooting.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Denver Nuggets

My reason for the pick :

I  will back the Nuggets in this contest as the Knicks simply will not have what it takes in which to remain competitive in this matchup. Their offense will continuously be stifled by the Nuggets defense that is ranked among the best in the league, while their defense will also have problems in defending the physical style of play that the Nuggets employ on the offensive end. With that being the case, look for the home team to pull out  a stellar victory over a lifeless New York team at home on Tuesday while picking up their third straight victory.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

Look for the under to be the play in this contest as I simply do not see New York scoring with any type of consistency throughout the duration. Of course, Denver will certainly put some points on the board, however, will score just enough in which to obtain a comfortable lead while relying on their defense  to continue to neutralize an already inconsistent offense for the Knicks in which to seal the victory. Nonetheless, one should certainly play the under as it is indeed the strongest play considering the types of offenses that will be taking the floor on Tuesday night.

Betting trends for New York Knicks:

Knicks are 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points.
Knicks are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss.

Betting trends for Denver Nuggets:

  • Nuggets are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 2 days rest.
Nuggets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
Nuggets are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 after scoring 100 points or more in their previous game.
