Pick, Prediction, & Preview:
Chicago Bulls vs Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets are set to return home to the Barclays Center after playing on the road in their previous outing and they will play host to the Chicago Bulls in an Eastern Conference matchup, the opening tipoff is slated for 7:30 PM. Brooklyn has been as hot as any team in the NBA as they come into this game on a 6 game winning streak which has put them at 6th in the Eastern Conference while Chicago has made it apparent they are in full-tank mode as they have lost 9 of their last 10 games.
Chicago Bulls's Latest Performance :
The Chicago Bulls have shown us time after time that they are in full rebuilding mode as they have only won 1 game in their last 10 and they proved that to another level in their recent home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers as they lost 104-101 to extend their losing streak to 3 games. 2nd-year pro Lauri Markkanen looks like a solid piece to build around for the future as the former Arizona Wildcat is averaging 17.1 PPG and 7.4 RPG, and he was able to show us how much of a stretch forward he really is against the Cavs as he went 4 for 7 from behind the arc to contribute to his double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds. The Bulls have a solid start in rebuilding their backcourt with Zach LaVine as he is the leading scorer for this struggling organization with 22.9 PPG, and he was able to show us his all-around capabilities against the Cavaliers with a double-double as he recorded 17 points and 12 rebounds. 24-year-old Wayne Selden got his 1st start of the season for Chicago and he played well alongside LaVine as he contributed 15 points and 6 rebounds against the Cavaliers. The Bulls have inquired about trading away veteran center Robin Lopez and he was able to show his trade value for other teams in their latest outing as he contributed 16 points and 7 rebounds, Lopez comes into this game averaging 6 PPG and 3 RPG. The Bulls have been playing without rookie Wendell Carter who is out 8-12 weeks after getting thumb surgery.
Brooklyn Nets's Latest Performance :
The Brooklyn Nets have been as hot as any team in basketball over the last month or so and we have seen them climb up the Eastern Conference standings as they enter this game in 6th place. The Nets were able to extend their win streak to 6 games after they beat their crosstown rivals in the New York Knicks 109-99. The leading scorer for the Nets this season has been 22-year-old D’Angelo Russell as he comes into this game averaging 19.2 PPG and 6.4 APG, but he was unable to have as much as an impact against the Knicks as he only contributed 12 points and 4 assists. The bench took over most of the production against the Knicks as their reserves were able to total 72 points which accounted for 66% of the team’s points. Rookie Theo Pinson played in only his 8th game of his NBA career and he may have proved he belongs permanently after he recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds off the bench for Brooklyn. 8th year pro Ed Davis is having a solid year as a reserve for the Nets and we saw him once again record a double-double as he had 17 points and 16 rebounds int heir latest outing, Davis enters this game averaging 5.9 PPG and 8.7 RPG. The leading rebounder for the Nets this season has been 2nd-year pro Jarrett Allen as he comes into this game averaging 11.4 PPG and 8.8 RPG but he was unable to have as much as an impact against the Knicks as he only recorded 2 points and 6 rebounds.

Against The Spread Selection: Brooklyn Nets*
My reason for the pick :
The Brooklyn Nets have become the staple of how to rebuild a team as they have young talent contributing to them getting a playoff spot as well as will have 2 max contracts next offseason. Chicago showed us in their recent loss against the Cavaliers that they are in tank mode and given the fact that Brooklyn is fighting for a playoff spot I will give them the advantage at home. Russell has started to play like the 1st round pick we failed to see ever take off in Los Angeles and he is joined by a bunch of solid role players. Chicago is also horrendous on the road this season as they have gone 6-19 SU and I would expect the trends to continue in this one.
