Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

NY Knicks vs Charlotte Hornets

The New York Knicks will travel to Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, to face the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Charlotte Hornets’ offense has not played well at all recently as the team has dropped two of their last three outings, overall, as they fell to the Milwaukee Bucks on the road in their last contest.  The Hornets were able to play well through three quarters as they possessed an 11-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Nonetheless, the Milwaukee Bucks put in an outstanding 4th quarter in outscoring Charlotte by a 32-13 margin en route to the victory. Nicholas Batum  let the way with 19 points along with six rebounds for the Hornets in defeat while Kemba Walker went 3-12 from the floor while ending with just 10 points on the night.

The New York Knicks continue their horrible streak of play as they fell on the road at Barclays Center to the Brooklyn Nets as the Knicks allowed their reserves for the home team to score a total of 71 points while the team shot just 40% from the floor.  On the other hand, the Nets heavily outrebounded the Knicks throughout the contest while also collecting 18 offensive boards en route to the victory.  In all, the Nets are 7-2 against the spread in the last nine meetings versus the Charlotte Hornets while the over has been the play in 18 of the last 26 meetings amongst these two teams. Finally, the Knicks have fared well against the spread in the last few outings in Charlotte as they are 6-2 in their last eight games at Spectrum Center.

NY Knicks 's Latest Performance :

And despite shooting horribly from the floor, as stated, in addition to committing a whopping 16 turnovers on the night, the Nets were still able to pick up the victory over the New York Knicks at home in their last outing as the bench outscored their starters by margin of 71-37 for the game as Benson & Napier led the way with a 19 and 18 points, respectively while Davis also put in a strong double double on the night as he powered in 17 points while grabbing 14 rebounds for Brooklyn.

On the other hand, the Knicks went just 8-32 from three-point range on the night as leading scorer Vonleh went 3-11 in this area on the night yet leading the team with 22 points. Burke also put in a solid night for the Knicks with 25 points.  Tim Hardaway Jr struggled in going 2-14 for the night including 0-6 from three-point range. The Knicks were also heavily outrebounded in this contest by 60 – 33 margin as the Nets collected 18 offensive rebounds on the night compared to just six from New York.

The Knicks will now settle in at home as four their next five games will be at Madison Square Garden, where they have dropped their last four outings. Of course, to pick up a win in this contest versus the Hornets, they will certainly have to have bigger contributions from Hardaway Jr in which to give themselves a shot at the win. Fortunately for the Knicks, Hardaway Jr has scored 20 or more points in two of the last three games for New York and will certainly be looking for a much better outing.

Charlotte Hornets's Latest Performance :

And while the Bucks certainly did not shoot outstanding from the field at 46% from the floor on the night, they were able to get 34 points from Giannis Antetokounmpo as she also pulled down 14 rebounds in the contest to lead Milwaukee in the scoring department.  Eric Bledsoe along with Malcolm Brogdon also chipped in 19 and 18 points respectively, for a Bucks squad that not only capitalized off 17 turnovers for Charlotte throughout the contest, but, allowed just 40% shooting to a Charlotte team that has not exhibited any type of consistency on the offensive end lately.

Aside from Batum scoring 19 points,  Michael Kidd-Gilchrist along with Jeremy Lamb chipped in 16 points on the night as Walker struggled mightily, as stated. Fortunately for the Hornets, Walker has scored 20 or more points in six of the last seven outings for Charlotte and will certainly be looking to put in a much better performance in this contest on Monday night versus a New York Knicks squad that has not only lost five of their last six road games, but, have dropped nine of their last 10 games, overall.

How NY Knicks & Charlotte Hornets Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

New York is 21-25-1 ATS while the OU is 25-22

Charlotte is 25-23 ATS while the OU is 25-22

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

The Knicks will once again be looking to pick up a victory in which to gain some confidence moving forward.  On the other hand, the Hornets will also be looking to play much better on the offensive end as well.  Unfortunately, Walker is questionable for this game with a neck injury to which he suffered in their last game.  Nonetheless, expect a highly competitive matchup amongst these two squads as they each look for a hard-fought victory to end their bleeding.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:  Charlotte Hornets

My reason for the pick :

Look for Charlotte to pull out a home victory in this contest versus a New York Knicks squad that has been entirely too up and down lately in which to back in any instance. Also, combine this with the fact that the Knicks have played horribly on the road lately in dropping four of their last five, one certainly has to conclude that they will struggle yet again in this contest on Monday. And after playing 8 of their last 10 games on the road, Charlotte will return home, where there are winners of their last two overall, in which to begin their homestand with a win over the lifeless Knicks while also stringing together some victories, moving forward.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

The under has been the play in four of the last six games for the Charlotte Hornets while also being the result in four of the last five games for the  New York Knicks, primarily due to their offensive struggles. With that being said, one can certainly look for the defenses to continue to take center stage as they have been  the more solid unit of the two. In all, the under will indeed be the strong play in this instance amongst these two squads.

Betting trends for NY Knicks :

  • Under is 4-0 in Knicks last 4 road games.
Under is 4-0 in Knicks last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
Knicks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games playing on 0 days rest.

Betting trends for Charlotte Hornets:

  • Charlotte Hornets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 Monday games.
Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall.
Hornets are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games.
