St. Josephs Hawks vs Wake Forest Demon Deacons
The St. Josephs hawks will travel to Lawrence Joel Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Winston Salem, North Carolina to take on the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest on Thursday at 11:30 am EST. The Hawks won their second game of the season with a 78-63 home win over the Monmouth Hawks as they pulled away late in the game due to their ability to rebound the ball while also shooting 41% from the field. They did, however, allow the Hawks of Monmouth to shoot 48% from the field enabling them to keep the game interesting, as a result.
The Demon Deacons picked up their first win of the season on November 10th as they beat up on the Aggies of North Carolina A&T by a 90-78 score. And while six players scored in double digits for St. Josephs, they allowed the Aggies to shoot 46% from the field along with 42% from three-point range. In addition to this, despite 14 turnovers for the game, the Demon Deacons were able to outrebound the Aggies by a 43-17 margin. Both teams will be looking to be much more productive on both offense and defense in Thursday’s matchup.
St. Josephs Hawks's Latest Performance :
The Hawks went 2-0 on the season, despite being out-shot by a motivated Monmouth squad on November 12th. They also shot horribly from three-point range, as well, yet pulled out a win due to efforts by Charlie Brown Jr along with Lamar Kimble who chipped in 21 and 18 points for the game. What the Hawks did well was rebound the ball as they won the battle for the contest by a 41-27 margin. In fact, for the season, the Hawks are outrebounding their opponents by a 39-29 margin per outing. With that being said, they will look to maintain their edge, altogether, versus a Wake Forest team that has tons of potential and experience, particularly on offense.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons's Latest Performance :
After only an 11-20 season last year, Coach Danny Manning and his team rejoiced in getting a win in their opener on Saturday night, even if it was over the North Carolina A&T Aggies, as the home team used a stellar first half to which they scored 46 points, to spur them to victory. Jalen Hoard and Brandon Childress scored 19 and 18 points respectively, while Hoard had 14 boards for the game in addition to Childress pumping in six assists.
Wake Forest has much bigger goals this year and a win over an Aggies team to which they outrebounded 43-18 was just what they needed to begin the year on a high note. Their defense did its job, however, as they allowed the visitors to shoot 46% from the field in their win while permitting them to hit 11 of 26 three pointers for the game. In all, the Demon Deacons will certainly need to shore up perimeter defense versus a St. Joe’s team that averaging close to 80 points per game.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick: Wake Forest Demon Deacons
My reason for the pick :
I will back Wake Forest in this matchup as they have much more experience and talent. Besides, they are averaging 90 points per game thus far in the season while shooting 50% from the field. And while their defense may not be where it needs to be at this point, they will do just enough to preserve a slim lead as the road team will get a victory.
Totals Selection: Pick: Over
My reason for the prediction :
I will back the over in this contest due to the offenses for each team as they will be opposed by two, less than stellar defenses, all night long. With that being the case, look for the score to balloon in this contest as both teams will certainly have solid nights on the offensive end. Besides, the over has been the play in eight of the last ten games for the Demon Deacons while also being the play in three of the last five games for the St. Josephs Hawks.
