Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

San Diego Toreros vs Oregon Ducks

The San Diego Toreros will travel to Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Oregon, to battle the Oregon Ducks on Wednesday night at 10 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Ducks halted a two-game losing streak by picking up an 84-64 win over the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks in their last time out as the Ducks went up by 21 at the half while cruising to victory behind 20 points and five rebounds from Kenny Wooten along with Victor Bailey Jr, who came off the bench to score 16 points while going 4-5 long-range on the night.

The San Diego Torreros won their third straight game after picking up an 82 – 68 home win versus the Cal Northridge Matadors as the Toreros not went 11-24 from three-point range while shooting well over 50% for the night.

San Diego Toreros's Latest Performance :

San Diego has not only been able to put some points on the board on the offensive end in 2018, but, their defense has been solid as well. In fact, the Toreros have allowed 70 points or more in only two of their last 10 games, total. In their last outing versus Cal State Northridge, San Diego allowed the visitors to shoot 48% from the floor, however, the Matadors were only able to convert on three of 14 attempts from three-point range on the night as Sterling Gomez led the team as he was 2-4 from long-range while ending with 13 points off the bench; Nonetheless, for the game, Lamine Diane led the team with 19 points along with a eight rebounds.

On the other hand, the Toreros were on fire from the field in this contest as they shot well over 50% from the floor while each of its starters scored in double figures for the game led by Isaiah Pineiro along with Alex Floresca finished with 16 points apiece while Pineiro added seven rebounds on the night. San Diego will certainly like to keep their momentum going as they have won three of their last five road games, total, yet, have dropped two of their last three road games, lately.

Oregon Ducks's Latest Performance :

After losing three of their prior five games, overall, the Oregon Ducks sorely needed a win over the Nebraska-Omaha Mavericks in their last matchup at home. As a result, they were able to shoot 58% along with 52% both from the field as well as from long-range as Bailey Jr led the Oregon offensive attack in a much-needed victory. Bol Bol also went 8-14 while  ending with 18 points and 10 rebounds for an Oregon team which had only four double-digit scores for the game.

Nonetheless, the Ducks allowed only 40% shooting to the Mavericks while outrebounding them by a margin of 35 – 13 for the contest as Zach Jackson along with JT Gibson finished with 20 points along with 18 points, with Gibson going 5-6 from three-point range for the game. The  win marked the fifth time in six games that Oregon picked up a win at Matthew Knight Arena as they will certainly look to keep this momentum going versus a San Diego Toreros team that has also built up a huge amount of confidence in winning three straight along with six of their last seven games, overall.

How San Diego Toreros & Oregon Ducks Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

San Diego is 5 – 4 ATS while the OU is  3 – 6

Oregon is 4 – 4 ATS while the OU is  3 – 5

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be an interesting matchup as Oregon will certainly like to maintain their current home dominance versus a San Diego Toreros squad that has been playing well on both sides of the ball thus far in 2018. Look for both teams to speed up the pace in this matchup as each will be looking to get their offenses going early and often. On the other hand, the defenses for both teams have not been bad, either, as they are each allowing opponents to score around 65 points per game thus far.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Oregon Ducks

My reason for the pick :

While I happen to believe that San Diego will certainly bring their A-game for this matchup, I will back Oregon in this contest as they will hit the necessary shots in which to pull away from San Diego at some point in this matchup while picking up a much-needed win. Again, the Toreros are a team that continues to improve with every outing, however, I  believe that Oregon is indeed the best team at this juncture in the season as this will be illustrated in a victory on Wednesday night.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

The under has been the play in four of the last six games for the Torreros of San Diego while also been the play in five of the last eight games, total, for the Oregon Ducks, as well. Combine this with the fact that both teams have been dominant on the defensive end versus their opponents throughout the season, what this game will certainly be is a low-scoring and competitive matchup to where those offenses will indeed struggle throughout.

Betting trends for San Diego Toreros:

  • The Toreros are 1-3 ATS  in last 4 games

  • The under is 6 – 2 in Torero’s last eight games

Betting trends for Oregon Ducks:

  • The Ducks are 2 – 4 ATS  in last 6 games

  • The under is 5-3 in Ducks last eight games
