Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

Oregon Ducks vs Baylor Bears

The Oregon Ducks will travel to Ferrell Center in Waco, Texas, to battle the Baylor Bears on Friday night at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Bears are losers of two of their last three games, overall, as they picked up a loss at home against the Stephen F Austin Lumberjacks in their last outing as they relinquish a 33-25 lead at the break in which to be outscored 34 – 25 in the second half by the Lumberjacks en route to the huge loss.

On the other hand, the Oregon Ducks are winners of four straight games as they picked up a win over the Florida A&M Rattlers in their last time out as they were outshot by the Rattlers in this matchup, however, their ability to rebound the ball as well as make free throws was the key in allowing them to pick up the much-needed victory as  Victor Bailey Jr struggled on the night yet led the team with 16 points on 5-14 shooting on the night.

Oregon Ducks's Latest Performance :

The Oregon Ducks are averaging 70 points per game during their four-game winning streak currently. On the other hand, their defense has allowed opponents to score only 59 points during this time as they illustrated their overall defensive prowess versus the Florida A&M Rattlers in their last outing in picking up a win that was much closer than one would have thought. Oregon preceded to go up by 15 points at halftime yet were outscored by the Rattlers in the second half by a 41-33 margin.  On the other hand, the Rattlers shot a decent 46% from the field yet only connected on 5 of 13 three pointers on the night as Justin Ravenel was responsible for three of those three pointers as he ended the game with 15 points to lead Florida A&M.

On the other hand, Oregon nailed 7 of 25 3-point attempts while shooting 45% from the floor on the night as Victor Bailey Jr went 5-14 from the field while ending with 16 points while Paul White ended with 13 points, total.  And despite 15 turnovers, the Oregon Ducks were able to outrebound the Rattlers heavily while also making over 50% of their free throws, which assisted them in pulling out the all-important victory. Nonetheless, Oregon will seek to continue their success on the road versus a Baylor team that, despite their last loss to  Stephen F Austin, are winners of four of their last five games, overall.

Baylor Bears's Latest Performance :

Baylor certainly lost its way versus the Lumberjacks of Stephen F Austin in their last matchup as they relinquished an 8 point halftime lead while being outscored by the Lumberjacks in the second half by 834 – 25 margin in which to suffer the one-point defeat in their last outing. Baylor allowed the Lumberjacks to shoot only 42% from the night as Shannon Bogues scored 21 points off the bench for while Davonte Fitzgerald chipped in 15 points along with pulling down six rebounds in the huge victory.

On the other hand, Baylor shot horribly from the field at 38% for the night while connecting on only 4 of 24 3-point attempts as Tristan Clark led the team with 24 points along with collecting nine rebounds for the game as he went perfect from the field at 9-9 for the contest. Baylor slightly outrebounded the Lumberjacks in the matchup by 36-30 margin, however, both teams combined for 36 total turnovers for the game with Baylor having 17 of those.

In all, Baylor will certainly love to get back to basics as their offense has certainly struggled not only lately, but, throughout the season, as well. On the other hand, their defense has been the tip of the spear in their success in 2018 as they continue to allow opponents to average just 61 points per game during their three-game skid. Nonetheless, Baylor will seek to get back on the right track versus an Oregon team  that enters this matchup on an extended winning streak and will certainly look to add to their resume, moving forward

How Oregon Ducks & Baylor Bears Matchup.

Vegas Odds, Offshore Odds, & Odds ATS:

Oregon is 6 – 5 ATS while the OU is  4 – 7
Baylor is 4 – 6 ATS while the OU is  2 – 7

In-Depth Analysis of each team:

This will be an interesting matchup as Oregon, which will be looking to atone for their last road lost to the Houston Cougars on December 1st, as this will be only their second road game in their last 10 outings. On the other hand, Baylor has played some of its best basketball at home in 2018 and will certainly like to atone for a disappointing loss to the Lumberjacks in the last outing. In all, expect for this to be a very exciting game from start to finish as both teams will be fighting tooth-and-nail in which to pick up a victory.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:   Oregon Ducks

My reason for the pick :

Despite Baylor playing much better at home this year, I will back the Oregon Ducks in this contest as they happen to have the most consistent offense, overall, of the two teams that will be taking the court on Friday night. As stated, Oregon shoots  47% as a team from the floor on a nightly basis while Baylor continues to have their struggles on the opposite end. Of course, both teams will certainly bring their defense in this matchup as I see this as being a low-scoring yet competitive matchup to where Oregon will maintain the pace of this game while also pulling out the huge victory in the meantime.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the under in this matchup as two defenses will be taking the floor that are ranked highly within the nation. Combine this with the fact that they will be going up against offenses that have been up and down all season, look for the under to be the strong play in this matchup as one will certainly witness a defensive-minded matchup from start to finish.

Betting trends for Oregon Ducks:

  • The Ducks are 3-1 ATS  the last four games
The under is 4 – 1 in Ducks last five games

Betting trends for Baylor Bears:

  • The Bears are 1-3 ATS  in last 4 games
The under is 5-0 in Bears last five games
