Pick, Prediction, & Preview:

St. Bonaventure Bonnies vs Northeastern Huskies

The St. Bonaventure Bonnies will travel to Matthews Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, to battle the Northeastern Huskies on Friday afternoon at 12 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. The Huskies come into this matchup losers of two of their last three games, overall, as they fell to the Vermont Catamounts in their last outing on the road by a  75 – 70 score as the Huskies could not overcome 15 costly turnovers along with permitting the Catamounts to get to the free-throw line a total of 27 times as their defense allowed 70 or more points in each of the last three games.

On the other hand, Saint Bonaventure has lost two straight games as they were also losers on the road to the Vermont Catamounts in their last outing on November 18th as they also turned the ball over 17 times versus the Catamounts while also allowing Vermont to get to the free-throw line 23 times. And despite outshooting the Catamounts 48% to 40%, Vermont was able to hit  10 three pointers on the night en route to a huge victory.

St. Bonaventure Bonnies's Latest Performance :

St. Bonaventure has also hit a rough patch lately as well as they are losers of their last two games with their last defeat coming up their hands of the Vermont Catamounts is  well as the Catamounts needed overtime in which to dispose of a motivated Bonnie’s team that shot 48% from the floor while connecting on seven 3-pointers on the night as Courtney Stockard scored 27 points for Saint Bonaventure while also pulling down nine rebounds on 9-19 shooting from the floor while Kyle Loftin ended the game with 20 points, four assists, along with three steals as St Bonaventure was helped much due to the Catamounts turning the ball over 15 times for the game.

Nonetheless, after 6 Bonaventure relinquished a nine-point lead at the half, Vermont rallied in the second half in which to cause over time where Vermont then outscored St. Bonaventure 19 – 12 in the extra period en route to the much-needed victory. Anthony lamb scored 42 points in this game while also pulling down six rebounds as he went 15-28 from the floor while also going 6-14 from long range on a night where Vermont shot only 42% from the floor.  In all, Saint Bonaventure will certainly look to get back on the winning track versus a Northeastern team that struggles on both sides of the floor, yet, maintains a potentially dangerous offense.

Northeastern Huskies's Latest Performance :

The Northeastern Huskies have been a hard team to figure out in 2018 as they are averaging 48% shooting from the field, yet, are only averaging 65 points per game in their last three outings to where they lost two of the three games, overall. In their last outing versus  the Vermont Catamounts, the Huskies shot a decent 47% from the field led by Jordan Roland who scored 20 points for the team on 8 – 16 shooting from the field while also connecting on eight 3-pointers on the night. The problem was that the Huskies allowed the Catamounts to shoot  47% from the field as well while also allowing them to get to the free-throw line 27 times for the game. The catamounts also edged the Huskies in rebounding by a 33-31 margin while also capitalizing on 15 turnovers, as stated, by Northeastern during the game.

Anthony lamb chipped in 16 points for the Catamounts in the win as he struggled from the field in going 6 – 16 while Stef Smith also chipped in 13 points in the win for Vermont. In all, Northeastern will certainly love to get back on the winning track beginning with their offense in this matchup vs St. Bonaventure.  Again, Northeastern is shooting 48% from the floor; However, their defense also comes into this game allowing opponents to shoot 48% from the field as well on a nightly basis.

Against The Spread Selection: Pick:Northeastern Huskies

My reason for the pick :

While I believe that Saint Bonaventure will certainly bring the focus for this matchup vs Northeastern, I will back the home team in this instance as while they have struggled recently, their defense has held their opponents to only 72 points in their last four games, total. On the other hand, the Bonnies are allowing opponents to score 80 points during their two-game losing streak. With that being said, Saint Bonaventure is struggling much more on both ends of the floor than  the Huskies at this time of the season. It is for this reason that I will back Northeastern in this matchup to take control only this game are cruising to victory.

Totals Selection: Pick: Under

My reason for the prediction :

I will back the under in this matchup as I see both offenses continuing to struggle, for the most part,  on Friday night. With that being said, look for the defenses to take center stage as they will look to establish themselves early and often versus two inconsistent offenses. With that being the case, look for the under to be the strongest play for this matchup almost two teams desperate for a win.

Betting trends for St. Bonaventure Bonnies:

  • The Bonnies are 3 – 6 ATS  and last nine games
Under is 6 – 2 in Bonnies  last eight games

Betting trends for Northeastern Huskies:

  • The Huskies are 2-5-1 ATS  and last eight games
The over is 5 – 1 in Huskies last six games
